COVID19! Alert, be alert, we need more lerts.
We were actually able to race again today. Supposedly next week too, but we will see. 116 is shifting to 6th before the finish line, 119-120 is leaving it in 5th. Swapped out my ring and pinion to a 3.9 from an old rx7 diff I had laying around, it didn't quite get me where I wanted. Oh well, still had tons of fun. They messed up one of my passes so they let me go again.

You gotta be kidding Son! I don't know, it's like 5 pages back or something posted in March. I'll try to dig up the image if I still have it.
Thought you guys might like this log from my last pass.I've been trying a different turbo out but I am not too thrilled, maybe need to spool it with a compressed air setup.

The PCV catch can check valve mod is just adding a low cracking PSI valve to the catch can volume and moving the PCV between the catch can and intake. When in boost manifold pressure holds the PCV closed and the check valve in the can lets the block vent pressure. Hopefully getting close to doubling block venting while still keeping a full working PCV system. MAF probably hates it though, not that most of us would care. China made some cheap three port catch cans with little filters on top. They don't make much sense normally, but they have ports in all the right places for this.

Interesting. I was not asking you to post it here, I just don't know where your build thread is. Thus the request for a link.
On the other port, VTA through another catch can?
Seems a good idea for a highly boosted daily.

Hey Sonofthehill. Not sure if I would use compressed air spool shot with a stick shift for a couple of reasons. I can detail why if you want, but in my opinion its much better suited to an automatic and with a somewhat loose torque converter. At least thats my experience based on my setup. In your case you may want to consider adding a little nitrous to help with spooling.

Thanks Newaza!
I think my build thread has the dog mind control title but I'm not sure if that's still current. Flat shift doesn't kick you out and isn't hard on the tranny when properly implemented. Flat shift actually holds the correct rpm, it's just difficult to remember not to let my foot off the throttle after so many decades. I agree flat shift will help, first time back in months, and getting used to the mask thing there, maybe next week.
Yes Ian, it actually doesn't hit full boost until 4th gear, as I said, I am not exactly thrilled with this one, which is why I haven't mentioned it. I may put the "Big MK" unit back on at some point but I am still playing with this one for now.
Just having fun with my car as usual.

Flat shifting would certainly help. Been a while since I switched from a manual to an automatic transmission setup and didnt even think about that. However now that I've thought about it and remembering back when I had a manual transmission and tried various launch control and flat shifting schemes, I still stand behind a nitrous setup as being something he may want to consider if he sticks with a lazy turbo. The proper nitrous setup can be configured to operate around a launch control and flat shift schemes as well. Flat shift is great for keeping boost and even helping to add to boost rise on the next shift. however it does nothing to help initial spool if he races from a roll or is playing on the street and stabs the throttle say for example from 3500 rpm in 2nd or 3rd gear. However a very small shot of nitrous will help fill the hole in power while boost is building and greatly enhance spool time. The nitrous can be set to cut off when target boost is reached or can keep flowing and adding to overall power.

I have been talking with the guys at the track about spooling with nitrous for years now, and it is not out of the question.
Perhaps a tad Andy, I will have a look at my plugs before Wednesday. I really posted the log image for everyone's entertainment, finally lighting up 31psi maybe it's an inside joke, sorry folks. Kids, don't try this at home!

Dang Roxanne, I clearly need to work on that again.
Anyway, I don't think my timing table is too hot for my particular situation, but remember don't try this at home folks. Finally hit 121, and not a single time slip under 120.

Thanks! I actually spanked a '16 or '17 mustang on the first time slip. I was planning to try a few different things on launch yesterday and the first two the "grandma" launch. After that some hellcat posi'd 1/3 of the way down the track and right into the wall By the time we got to run again it was dial-in time, so I just ran with my standard 12.50.

18psi and shuiend, two people who have given me nothing but sound advice since I started building this rat rod. Yeah I need an ms3, some real tires, a real intercooler, ect... One of these days, but for now, I am just gonna beat on it some more.
