Cordy,
Perhaps when I do my rewire, I'll come across some of those plugs and can get more pics for Sven.

If you have more pics I can give you a place to upload them - the issue is then going through an entering in the descriptions one at a time...

Like I said, I've got a full 1999 wiring harness tagged with descriptions and pictures. Let me know where to upload and I'll "git 'er done". :)

The wiring harness is down in San Marcos and I'm in San Clemente, but I should be in that area this week. If so, I can pick it up and take some secondary pictures of the front/back/connector side of the plug.

This is a great project and I'm happy to help. :bigtu:

Cordy,
PM me your private email, I'll set up a log in for you so you can get into my pictures account.

Hi Cordy,

I would really like some pictures of the whole harness laid out so that we can number all the connectors (I still think we miss quite some of them).
And then of course enough pictures of the connectors that we are missing...

That would be awesome!

@Abe - I think we can name the series of about 90% of the connectors and most of the Sumi and Yazaki connectors use the same terminals... (Sometimes I feel like I dream of these bloody connectors ;) )

---------------------------------

Lets go a bit further...

The square 4 position relay connector:
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1362861814

Should be this one:

Sumitomo 250 type connector 250(6.0mm) 4 Position Female Housing Part.-Nr. 6070-4891 - It looks a tad different - so I am not certain

http://swsct.sws.co.jp/components/en..._s=60704891250
http://www.newunitedracetech.com/sho...48_749_750_751

I might have found the correct one - it's a YAZAKI CN-B Series connector Part.-Nr. 7123-2845

On page 4 of this PDF.

(Though I think they are interchangeable with the Sumitomo)

So who, and where are these being categorized and labeled? (maybe i missed it)

Surely there must be a better more efficant way of doing it.

Cordy uploaded 99 pictures to my website in a different folder:
Cord's Miata Harness Pictures - AbeFM's Photos

I should edit the first post and put it in there.

The relay likely has many mates - not good for us if we're looking to find pins for it. The relay is clearly meant to work on a large number of connector types, there are locking tabs (unused and used) all over it.

But to get the right pin, it needs to be the right one - though I agree a Sumitomo or Yakazi are most likely given what's used elsewhere.

Leafy, you wrote the first post - could you do some edits (or could a mod inset a post ahead of it)?
Based on the pictures listed below, I've started an open spreadsheet (viewable by anyone, and editable by request if you contact me (AbeFM) on this forum via PM).
You can reach it here:

New United has a great database system but doesn't stock many parts. Ballenger Motorsports has many of the parts available already but doesn't have them all listed online and/or in a simple search method for the Miata.

SL and DL are indeed cross-compatible where DL is preferred due to the more modern secondary lock system.

I think maybe it is simplest just to create a Miata specific page on bmotorsports.com with the product listings using the spreadsheet provided so you can just buy all the parts and check out in one place. It can be difficult to map all the applications for every connection. Mazda, as with most Japanese OEMs, use multiple manufacturers and multiple series in this case AMP, Yazaki and Sumitomo.

Great job on getting images and identification! Your work will make it easy to create a convenient one-stop shop for anyone who needs these "witch hunt" bits.

Here is the Mazda Miata specific page in it's alpha form. It will be updated over time and over the next week or two should expand:

I was reading this post going. Yeah yeah I know B carries pretty much every single thing we need, but a lot of it isnt listed or hard to find on the site. And then I was like yeah right they'll make a miata specific page, after giving me zero responses to emails. They're the kind of company that whats on the site ships quickly and at a good price but dont expect extra help. I guess I was wrong.

BTW I just bought CONN-100308 from you, it is for sure the VVT connector plug.

This time of year is a bit hectic for us and we are planning a move to a new facility shortly so we are stretched a bit thin. With that said, we track an NB Mazdaspeed and requests like yours help us add parts over time.

The sensor sides can look very similar which is interesting because CONN-100308 is different than the VVT connector identified by others in the thread (TS vs SL). I will add the CONN-100308 to the list, thanks for validating that!

1999 wiring harness

I went down to San Marcos and picked up my 1999 wiring harness. It's sitting in a cardboard box, waiting.

The individual pictures of each connector have been uploaded already, so if there are specific pictures or part numbers that are required, just let me know...

Leafy 03-25-2013 02:59 PM

I cant open the spread sheet at work, did we ever figure out the connector the the drivers and the AC fans on an NA? I need the fan side for making awesome plug and play fans.

AbeFM 03-26-2013 03:14 PM

I don't think so - the regular fan we got though.

At least with stuff like that - splicing isn't as big a deal, in terms of signal integrity. I'd probably put an additional connector, maybe the same as the other stock fan.

Zaphod 03-27-2013 01:46 AM

I am sorry to say that I am out of this game for a while - I simply don't have the time atm.

Sorry peeps, I will try to find some more later...

AbeFM 03-27-2013 03:10 PM

Hope all is well with you, Sven. Thanks for all the help.

Just found something to add:

99-00 Neutral switch

Sumitomo 250 type connector 250(6.0mm) 1 Position Male Housing [Natural] [6070-1471] : New United Race Tech, New United Race Tech

And the other connector at the gearbox - black 2way (Reverse switch?)
(I took pics - just have to upload them)

Seems to be a

Sumitomo 250 type connector 250(6.0mm) 2 Position Male Housing
Part.-Nr. 6070-2471

Sumitomo 250 type connector 250(6.0mm) 2 Position Male Housing [Natural] [6070-2471] : New United Race Tech, New United Race Tech

Looking at the Newunitedracetech site this connector is interchangeable with a Tyco AMP FASTIN FASTON 250 2 Position Male Housing

This connector also seems to be correct for:

(Is this the second fan?)

(This might be the gearbox one...)
