Looks like 3" to me. Probably just looks bigger because of the camera.

TurboTim 07-14-2009 09:02 AM

I hope so. It'd be nice to not bother with transitions.

johnwag 07-14-2009 11:13 AM

Damn Andrew! That pic of your car with all of the wiring exposed pains me. i hope I don't have to do that for wacky headlight issue.

Looking forward to the results.....

Pitlab77 07-14-2009 12:02 PM

wow.

Savington 07-14-2009 01:13 PM

I'll throw a tape on it before I mail it out, but I think it's just 3".

I can also get the housings for cheap enough that at some point, I will tune the car on a .64 housing as well (the housing in the photos is a .86 A/R housing) just to see the difference.

savington, you're a ------. Right now I really hope my cast manifold fails so I can buy this pretty shit.

Hopefully some more photos of the downpipe and such before it gets installed next week.

I want to have sex with it. O.O

NA6C-Guy 07-26-2009 03:25 AM

Duuuude! Fucking sick!!! Damn I hate you so much. I can't wait to see this thing finished up. Get to it!

PS, I need a larger version of that first picture, so I can jerk to it before bed.

Very nice. Is the WG VTA?
Another question: supposedly you need to introduce the gasses from the 4 cyls in the turbine inlet in the correct (circular) order - how is that done here?

I'd never heard that. It's set up in the same order as most other manifolds. The WG will normally be vented to atmosphere, yeah.

I mean this:
Turbo Manifold Design
(blue box: Turbo Manifold Design at the bottom)
but there is no conclusion in the article.

In a perfect world, those sort of principles could probably be better applied, but packaging and ease of manufacture come into play under our hood. ;) I don't think it's keeping Paul and other Absurdflow users up at night, not with the sort of power figures they're pulling down.

lsc224 07-26-2009 10:07 AM

DAMN...that is some fine work of art. Would love to see that shit installed in your car.

Sav -

'Tis good to see a great plan start to come together.

Keep us up to date; the dyno sheet *must* be posted within 90 minutes of completion of the tune!
