Sav, I just want to be clear on one point:
I hate you. As a direct result of this thread, I am likely going to end up spending a hell of a lot more money on the new engine than I'd anticipated. :D |

Open WG isn't exactly subtle on the street though is it?

Just search for videos of STIs with external dumps. There are a bunch of them and they give you a decent idea. It's loud, like a car with no exhaust would be, but you have to decide how much you use full boost around town.
Honestly, there's no reason not to recirculate it. I just don't need to, so I didn't. |
i'd probably go atmospheric dump just so I don't have to worry about overboost anymore.

I'm having Hytech build a stepped primary big tube header just for my engine. Equally pretty IMO. It'll end up being the prototype of the production header for us supercharged and built N/A guys. Building a manifold using a Skunk2 B18 Honda piece, that's just about done. 10mm cams, shim under bucket. Built for about a 7800 shift point, capable of 8500 rpm. The motor will have 11.0:1 pistons and a 37 lb/min Rotrex supercharger. N/A race motor style response and ah, plenty of torque. Which reminds me, I need to shop for a taller ring and pinion. A local track guy guy running the same blower on his 325 BMW is getting 325whp IIRC. I'm aiming for an actual 250~270whp on the track, using a little bit of a restrictor in the Rotrex inlet. The motor without the Rotrex should be good for about 190whp on race gas.

I've been in a 400 - 500 hp Civic with an open WG, it was a screamer. Chris |

1-bar spring, and going up from there.

why don't we need a support/crane for this set-up? I'm in a rock and a hard place...if I could turn back time I would have ordered this before savington.
I have a grip set-aside for this purchase. |

So it looks like the real solution to the stretching hardware is to replace with v-bands. I wish I had known this 2-years ago. Oh well, see you bitches at the track. |
