*shows picture to fiancee*
"does this picture do anything for you?"
"what??"
"does it make you tingle in your loins?"
"What??? ... Is it supposed to?"
"it doesn't have to"
"uhhh no.... does it make you tingle in your loins?"
"yes."
*she goes back to watching what not to wear*

Wow..

Soo... when do we get dyno numbers on the new build?

Savington 07-31-2009 11:09 PM

Maybe next week, although that is looking less and less likely.

Sounds a lot like my house.

man sav, you better give me a ride when its all done ^_^

I think some of the welds look shitty IMHO. ;) And I totally goofed-up the measurement on that first straight of the downpipe, hence the added ~1" section. Harder to do on your back than on a lift.

I'm also very very very interested in seeing dyno results of this turbo. I'm probably going to be posting the twins in the for sale section soon.

even Nelson agrees with the v-band movement:

Almost in there. I need to build a new oil drain (waiting on a low-profile 45* hose end), redo the IC pipes, helicoil an exhaust stud, and get an intake and I'm ready to go.

Well shoot, you're 99% there.

I especially like the welded mixing manifold. I did this to mine, and if I ever get a water cooled turbo, I'll be drilling and tapping it for a water line. Are you going to clock the turbo for a standard around-the-bottom-of-radiator setup, or ditch the lights and go around the top of the radiator, like those fucking NB owners can do.

BTW I can't believe after all the weight saving's you've done, you left the engine hoist hook and ps pulley in.

Savington 08-01-2009 07:18 PM

Turbo cannot be clocked in any direction except the direction it's facing right now. You hit (in clockwise order) the subframe, then the steering rack, then the block, then the manifold.

The motor hooks are still there as a threat to the shortblock: "I can have another you in a minute"

18psi 08-01-2009 07:33 PM

Damn it. lol

Cococarbine3 08-01-2009 08:51 PM

Fuck.

curly 08-01-2009 08:53 PM

Oh gotcha. I have mine bolted to my engine pull chain, another quick and slightly lighter method.

hustler 08-01-2009 09:25 PM

gayvington,
I can flip the stock water neck around and not hit the radiator? This is good news. I cant' wait to get my parts in and actually make it through a session.
