psi, shut the fuck up.

Sir you truly are a moron. You need to do some research. It is a v-mount setup. The rad is kicked back at a 45 degree angle and the intercooler is mounted flat on top. With the proper ducting it will cool better than front mount. Using a vented hood the air is sucked through and out the hood , and the rad air is pushed out the bottom of the car. And you have my word it wont be a garage queen. Yes i buy good parts , i dont like buying things twice ! And im supporting american business's in the process .

Righteous build thread.

It would be nice if users had the ability to ban people from threads they started.

All that heat from the radiator is going to get soaked in by the intercooler. Finish that garage queen and burn some rubber! You remind me a guy in one of those Del SOl forums where everybody was UHH and AHH for years, another one who also had a Mazda 5 build thread and the same shyt, all other users were sobbing and "I want to see your car" and all that car kinky stuff and then at the end the project went south or simply it just remained a garage queen. Its cool that you do stuff to the car, but just because you do "more" does not mean is going to be super bad ass. I have seen it plenty of time on mx3.com, Mazdaforums.com and clubprotege.com. Spend 3,000 on a turbo, buy brand everything and 4 years down the road dont know why the car is just doing 14s on the quarter mile. Ban!!! Keep up the good work OP! I will say it's a long time coming, but I have enjoyed every second of this thread. I can't wait to see the finished product though. |
When I see some of the things psiturbo posted I nowwant to punch him in the throat, and I feel shame for it.Keep building what you want, and if he does like it so f'ing what.Mad righteous build.

PSIturbo is most certainly a dumbass. He reminds me of Zoomin, who is also a virgin.

Shit. Is there anything you didn't get or didn't do to this car? :giggle: I don't think I have ever seen a Miata with THIS much stuff done to it. At least not all at one time. Still looking good!
|
You've got more in the engine bay than some here have in the whole car + mods lol

psiturbo is just trolling...oh yeah and jealous. Dude your build rocks, it is inspiring to see what can be done with the proper tools. I wish I had the machinery at my disposal that you do. But then again, you have to have the talent to use the equipment. Keep it up!!

Attachment 200510
Attachment 200511 intercooler had to come off to have the iat sensor bung welded in, because of how tight the couplers are, the compressor housing has to come off along with the TB , also i mounted the oil thermostat. now im waiting on fedex..... they shoulda been here today |
Dumb question but where did you find that accessory belt?
|
its a gates racing belt, i wanna say moss motorsports
|
You're tube front is still pushing me toward having mine done... Must resist........
|
all i can say is, take everything into consideration, and plan it out well. once its there you cant change it
|

Very valid point... Thusly why I am having someone do the front end for me. He did a tube front on a buddy of mines MKIV Supra that was SUPERB! Couple of pics below... How much weight do you figure you lost by doing this? Even though I know that was not your ULTIMATE goal...
Attachment 200505 Attachment 200506 |
^^^sex!
|
no idea on weight. i took some out then added some, then took some out. who knows, everything i put on i tried to keep light. the turbo stuff adds a bit of weight.
see i originaly wanted the tubes to connect the my front hoop, and tie into the dash bar(they follow the fender line) like on the supra. but that super hard to do on the miata, you need to move the master cyl . thats why we gusseted the hoop instead. |
Ah... Thanks for the heads up on that man. Didn't even think about that. But I will be running floor mounted pedals with remote reservoirs so it shouldn't be a big problem. Keep up the good work man and like you said before, don't rush anything. That's just how you end up having to fix stuff down the road.
|
Hey nice build man!
Whats the scoop on all the -AN fuel fittings and lines? I am also looking to go with all black fittings for my fuel system. Is that black stainless braided lines or another material? Where did you order them? |

Any reason for the oil restrictor? I heard its a good idea to do that with china turbos but i thought you didnt really need one with the real garrett turbos.

atp turbo recommends that you run a restrictor on GT series turbos. my friend runs the same one on his GT3076 and its fine.
Attachment 200361 Attachment 200362 Attachment 200363 Attachment 200364 Attachment 200365 Attachment 200366 Attachment 200367 i have to get a few more fittings cause i just guessed at some stuff. and my turbo feed line was to short so i have to do something about that. i couldnt get ahold of my welder today so i have to wait to get the intercooler back on. gonna try to mount and plumb the accusump tomm |

I don't know ctdrifter but judging by his work I'd have to speculate that he's a machanical engineer. Only they would be that ---- about a Miata....LOL nice work man, that car is going to be bad ass. Me you and cspence should get together in the spring when all our cars are done.
|
fastcolt, where in ct do you live?

I don't think it could be said enough... fucking amazing! Every time I look at this build I can't help but crack a smile and drool a little. By far the most thorough build of a Miata I have seen.
