The system itself has both peak and hold drivers with variable current as well as saturation drivers. So I know we are covered on that end.
I was going to see if I could team up with Deastchworks whenever they get their 1600cc injectors and give it a shot. The Adaptronic has dead time vs voltage correction that they could get me the numbers for. With that I would imagine it would be easier to dial it atleast. I really think I could get the injectors to set down and idle reasonably well, but we'll see.

I've got a 94, I'm right there with you on this six
I'm working on a bracket kit to enable traction control and launch control on th 94, as well as enabling traction control on the NB and NBB's. Slip angle, and all the methods for controlling it can set with a sensor in the wheel. This can also be adjusted with a variable control in the dash to adjust slip angle on the fly. I think it will be a very nice system once I get it all put together.
We need 2.1 more people for the price to drop!

But wait, the stock ECU never sees wheel speed, right? That goes to the ABS module thingy and only ABS cars have the sensors in the first place. So would this indeed be an aftermarket little add-on circuit that interfaces with the Adaptronic? If so, it could probably be designed to work with other standalones too.... Sign me up if you actually make one of these.

The Adaptronic is made to pickup two speeds. You have wheel speed and vehicle speed. The NB and NBB's have electronic vehicle speed sensors. So the vehicle will know how fast its going. With that you automatically get launch control. You can set the vehicle speed that you want the launch rev limit to disengauge at, and how the launch rpm is limited.
With just one more bolt on sensor and some wiring you get information about how fast one wheel is turning plus the vehicle speed. With that you know exactly how much slip the vehicle is undergoing. It would be possible it could work with other standalones, but I'm not sure which ones support launch and traction control. I know the hydra doesn't support traction control.
I don't think the mega does either. Maybe Motec, Haltec, Autronic? I'm not sure.
The new 1280 ECU that Adaptronic is coming out with in the next year lays waste to pretty much everything on the market. Wide band per cylinder, EGT per cylinder, individual cylinder trim for ignition and injection. Individual cylinder auto tune. 4 wheel speed sensors for the ultimate in slip control and launch control. It is the most powerful I've ever seen. Its like each cylinder has its own stand alone fuel management system catering to it. I think the price is going to be something around 2200-2500 though. Its really made for all out racing. The guy designing it is doing it for his doctorate in mechatronics at his university. Good stuff.

Well, there is no full standalone to any of these cars, because to my knowledge there isn't an E.C.U. on the market that outputs the all important OBD communications protocol that makes the car emissions passible.
So the only way to get absolute maximum function out of the vehicle is to run a parallel install. The only function you have to farm out to the stock E.C.U. is alternator control and OBD protocol. The rest of the functions can be done on-board in some way or another.
