I had one hell of a time fixing the J-pip trap on my sink in my house...I ended up having to cut everything off at the wall and remake the trap as all the new pipes have different sizes/connections.

Looking for an electric gokart for the kid. He's 8, and the power wheels car was too slow. It's got to be electric, because my neighbors (and me) wouldn't want to listen to a gas engine screaming up and down the street. So, the obvious choice is a Razor. I've found a couple in my area for about 100 bucks.

Anyone have any experience with these? Are they worth the money? Do they hold a charge? The PW would charge for 6 hours, and run for less than 1 before dying, and that was a brand new battery.

 

Going to try a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter and use a 1/2" valve. Space is tight. The original valve is already pretty close to the disposal unit, any longer and it may not fit.

These 1/4 turn valves are cool.

 

You could look into a gas kart and just add a larger muffler to it. I feel the 3-5hp gas karts will be a lot more fun and prove to be the better choice, regardless of what the Huxtables have to say.

Based on what little I can tell from the specs (total weight 55 lbs, battery 24v) I'm guessing that it doesn't have much in the way of capacity.

On the other hand, you could always upgrade the battery. 24 Volt LiFePO4 Battery Packs with BMS (Battery Management System)

 

Yes, Joe. That's the one. About half price, used. I'm not looking for a high top end, as it's for the kids on the street. Lately, they've taken to pushing each other in a Little Tykes wagon. I wouldn't want to have something that will get one of them killed, just a little faster than the slow walking pace that is Power Wheels.

 

Yowza, those batteries are expensive! I wouldn't pay $120 for a battery for my car, let alone 300 clams for a kid's toy.

 

That's kind of what I was thinking when I read Pusha's suggestion.

If you don't want to spend money on LiFe, SLA batteries are cheap as hell. If you're only concerned about runtime, you could easily double the battery capacity for maybe $50-60 without having to make any serious electrical modifications. Or you could just put together a second battery pack and keep it on the bench with its own charger. Lead-acid batteries, while slow and primative, are cheap and easy to work with and nearly impossible to destroy catastrophically.



You probably don't want to know how much money I've got tied up in the battery on my bike, then.

nah, we didn't actually drive on the cooled lava. that's crazy because you never know if there is running lava underneath or not, and falling into running lava would not be a good way to go. So doing what they did was incredibly stupid, even if it was for entertainment. But we were driving on a glacier that a volcano had melted through, so we were even in danger because you would never know if the slab of ice you were standing on could be melting from beneath.
