Wellll ****. Ordered a 01-05 head gasket on accident. Now to get a 94-00 gasket in the next few days.

This is 100% @shuiend's fault and not mine. He linked me a head gasket and I blindly purchased it. Everyone blame him.

Calling mazda comp in the morning. But if anyone has one on the shelf let me know

Got dowel pins from curly. 2 head gaskets on order, arp flywheel bolts arriving tomorrow. Oil pump on Wednesday. Hoping to start this weekend. Leave for Nebraska on Tuesday for a week. So I gotta get it done.

I dunno, I can't tell what kind of shell you have loaded. Slugs are too big for coolant passages.

So about half the shims supertech sent me measure out to 6.42mm in diameter instead of 6mm. They are sitting on the valve. Should I be worried about them coming off somehow?

 

They're probably no more likely to come off at 6.42mm than 6mm, just dont float your valves.
