I saw the DGR people trying to peddle their wears on CR and got royally torched. The threda is gone now but it was a clusterfuck worth reading and laughing at. In typical predictability, the "rep" tried to make them sound like a US developed and made product only to backpedal and say they were designed in the USA to finally admitting they he was just a US broker and that "the suspension is direct from the factory of a company who makes OEM suspension for many cars" and whatnot bullshits. Oh I wish it wasn't deleted...it was strange to see CR people calling straight bullshit on a generic product for once.

Hello everyone, looks like I'm the new kid in class. Here's a little bit about who we are, what we do, etc. We are a new US based company out of Baltimore, MD offering the DGR High Performance Suspension kit. Our team of engineers put a lot of R&D into the shocks to help them absorb road imperfections and provide superior ride comfort and control. This is achieved by using the best resources available to us, such as spherical bearings from KOYO in Japan (in our camber adjustable pillowballs), top seals from NOK in Japan and fork oil from IP in Italy. Most people would immediately think these are the same kits already out there, just repainted and a new logo on the box. You ocouldn't be more wrong. These are NOT a re-branded coilover kit currently on the market.

Our target audience is a buyer looking for the Full body adjustable coilover kit. The DGR High Performance Suspension is a 30 way adjustable mono-tube design. We are competing in the "mid-level" market. Miata kits come with a solid aluminum alloy top mount with high durometer rubber bushing. We are not always the low price leader, but our quality, our customer service and our warranty help us stand out.

DGR's unique feature is customizable kits, but we also offer a kit ready to go. Tell us if you want "soft" DD/ Auto-X - a combo of comfort and weekend warrior capability, or "hard" which is an all out track ready set up. The shocks are valved according to the set up you choose. My prior suspensions I used were from Tein and JIC and while those were high quality, they just were a bit too much for roads that are less than perfect here in the North East/ Mid-Atlantic. On my current DGR set up, I drive with my fronts at 10/30 and rears at 15/30. Feels just right. If I set it on 0/30 F/R the car is so nice on the highway. With the springs set with no pre-load or drop, I have full travel with the shocks shortened. I am sitting about 11.5" hub to fender up front and 12" hub to fender in rear with FULL travel. Slammed I know, it was more of a "how does it feel this low?"

The one thing that really sets DGR apart is our lifetime warranty. If you blow a shock, simply call me and let me know you need to make a claim. I gather your information and box up a shock and a return label. I just ask that you return the old shock with in seven days. I hate downtime, and I'm sure everyone else does too. I try to make this process as painless as possible. To expand into detail on our warranty process, Coil-Over Damper Kits come with LIFETIME worry-free manufacturer warranty which includes product defects and damage from a collision. Any modifications or abuse to the coil-over damper kits automatically voids the warranty on the damper kit. All warranty claims must be approved by our warranty department. After the first replacement, there will be a change to 6 months and if problem still persist, the warranty will be void for that shipment.

I'm looking forward to serving a lot of fellow Miata enthusiasts! Please let me know if you have any questions!

*Shock dynos of the "street" shock and "race" shock will be available in 1-2 weeks. I am having them 3rd party tested, not telling them who I am, or what they are other than "test these shocks for me."

I'll be offering a promo on these very very shortly (I just need to put my new computer desk together - and then I'll post up).

And here you will find that they are made in Tiwan...

Yeah, a lot of talk...not much substance. I love that the color mimics the Xidas....how hard is it to come up with your own branding???

It was deleted from CR because of a sponsorship issue. They got about a month of free publicity and promised to become sponsors "on Feb 1st." Not sure why the magic date, but that was the promise. The thread was closed until they ponied up money for their publicity.

The date came and went. The thread was hidden while the mods talked about it. I'm kinda sad it was hidden, because it really was great to see CR guys call a suspension company out. I was amazed after all the raceland love.

So anyways, we were discussing it in the mod forum. One mod thought that the DGR guy's style of posting was amazingly similar to Russ from Chaser Aero. Always mentioning his accounting department and CFO? Strange. So, I started digging a little bit. I found...

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...php?p=33113096
and
http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fb...72779729423928

and then I thought of doing a whois.
DGR Suspension is Russ who used to work for Chaser Aero. Russ then admitted this in the intro thread over at m.net.

The web site and intro at m.net sounded like some US suspension company with engineers, etc. is entering the market. Then I asked some simple question which engineer would've answered in a couple of minutes, but I got a reply sounding like coming from a person who has no idea about suspension designs and has no technical data of their product. LOL at the funny offerings like running to his car to take measurements. Then I posted this, and Gary deleted it:

I guess the confusion came from the fact that both the web site and the the introduction plus the talks about dynos sound like a US suspension company with engineers, etc. is entering the market.

And now it turns out that this USA thing likely is mostly a single ex-Chaser Aero guy who is not an engineer/suspension specialist and just starting ordering existing kits from Taiwan and reselling those in USA. All the tech data you have so far is just the marketing papers you've read. The wait for the dyno graphs is because you don't own a dyno (correct?) and you've never even dynoed the shocks yet.
Here is the entire thread. Also him claiming the $949 price being a "coincidence" but him already knowing coincidence of what ...

You know some of the 'netters look for stuff on CR as there are are more people on there who "do" instead of just discuss. CR should put it back up....with proper editing of contact information of coarse.

At least Russ was smart to leave Chaser. So now he's trying something else, I don't see how that's really relevant.

He has been samefagging with his Chaseraero screen name to shill his DGR products, pretending to be unrelated to DGR. heres a quote, straight from the horses mouth, as ChaserAero.

"DGR is a new company on the market and figured I'd pass on my thoughts...I have a miata, but they serve almost everyone; especially Subaru. It's nice to see a good review, so I figured as a vendor (not of DGR though, there are a few) I'd pass this on...

I bought a set for my Miata, shipped super quick. They were on my door step before I could even ask for tracking info. I went with the softer "Street" set up (8k/ 5k springs)."

His spring rate conversion chart seems a bit off.

Here's another option in that price range. I don't know anything about them, but perhaps our friends on the other side of the pond can comment.

Those were designed by PHILMD and they are legit. Russ seems like a fraud.

Why does it look like they have 1" of stroke, what's up with the multiple nuts on the adjustment ****, and why is there no upper?

It's really tough for me to play nice.

We are beating this guy up pretty bad, but if he has a clue, and he's ordering good valves and shim-stacks stacks it might not be a bad deal. However, I don't take chances with that kind of money...and I have a set of Tein twin-Flex that are about to go on my daily and make that my auto-x car.

I've been looking for a lower end coilover to replace my PSS coilovers for the past few months. Needless to say, I've been talking with Russ about these because I didn't want to rule them out until I learned more. At this point he doesn't have a clue about the product he's trying to sell. I'm sure he'll learn more about them as things progress, but I don't anticipate him bringing anything worthwhile to market. He does feel they are "in the same league as the Tein Mono Flex." Not sure I agree with him on that. For now I'm going to keep watching the classifieds.

Seen stories like this all over the internet. Recently with a header group buy on M3Forum.Net. Learned a VERY important lesson through other peoples pain. NEVER buy an unproven product unless you are willing to take the money it would cost, drop that money on the ground and set it on fire. After reading the guy's responses not even sure if I would take a set of these for free.

You'd be foolish to not buy Xida CS. They're another league for less than $2000. It's pretty entertaining when people look at the Traqmate log and ask if it's broken or needs calibration, lol.
