I love how people continue to ignore my idiocy with the brake pad.

And I did way more than one lap. I drove two sessions in the morning that way. I got a 2:04 that way.

Can I get a thread title change up in hurr. I actually drive this thing, and bought baller(ish) parts.

Have a line on id1000s. Probably will pick those up after my bank account recovers.

Also have a potential buyer for my whole 1.6 setup (including installation and motor). But he can be a total flake sometimes (sorry Luke its true), so well see.

Ground down the weld a bit. Can't tell if the crack didnt go all the way through, or if i just blended it together. Might try and heat cycle it and see what happens.

Yeah one of those. I think the bushing and oil seal are both major overkill. You really only need to seal in oil splash.

Overkill is never bad. Also its so easy to do.

I'm still a little confused how you are connecting the new rod.

Post a picture if you get a chance.

Ground out, found both ends of the crack, and beveled both sides. All with the manifold still on the car.

Going to wait for welding master yank to come over and we will seal it up tomorrow.

Very similar to your link. I'm adding a block to the offset lever with a hole in line with the original shift rod hole for the extension rod to go in. Except I'm doing it by tack welding a little block onto it and using the original bore as a guide to spot the new block. Then I'll take the block off and finish drill it, then weld it back on in line. Assemble it, cross drill the new block and extension rod for the roll pin and its good to go.

Where did you find your offset lever?

Just found your ninja edit with that remote shifter page. Thats exactly what i'm thinking about. Just need to find the spare shift block, and figure out a way to mate the two. I'm having a hell of a time visualizing what you are saying, i'm sure it will make more sense when I get a box in my hands.

Seems like you could build something that could press into that main shifter block. Maybe pin it too.

Either way I think we are on the same track.

Still waiting on @Diamond Dave for the ppf adapter pictures.

I gave up waiting and started cutting my ppf. I stopped working on it today because I realized I needed 1/2-13 bolts to connect to the tranny mount and the only 1/2-13 stuff I have in the shop is some 8" long galvy carriage bolts and the studs for my strap clamps.

And were back in business.

Pretty awkward position to weld in. But it was beveled with a gap, so there is no way I didn't get full penetration.

ACE Race has never seen what happened before. So they sound like they might be hooking it up for my next manifold build Just in time.

Go read the last few pages.

Tentative plan is.
