You need to ensure that the Turbosmart's wastegate actuator shaft does not twist at all because otherwise this will happen:

The flat/shallow internal diaphram can pinch and develop a hole/tear, rendering it useless, if the shaft does not move in a very linear manner and needs to twist/rotate.

Turbosmart wastegates are very unforgiving in this (Forge wastegates use a ball-socket design so allow more flexible movement in the shaft since the diaphram is a semi-sphere).
The Turbosmart EFR6258 BOV on the other hand is a solid piece of kit, it makes the original BOV look dinky and cheap in comparison.

This happened on my original low-mount EFR6258 manifold, before we knew just how little play could be afforded in the wastegate shaft movement on an EFR6258 before binding issues occur.

Has anyone powdercoated a VICS manifold. It has a nylon bushing around the butterflys that I'm slightly worried about melting.

Martin had one, its now on eddies car. That bushing is more of a dust boot, it did melt, but the system works still.

Interesting. So it doesn't seal the butterflys or anything?

I have not, but I know I've seen them on m.net and never heard of anyone having a problem. I would bet it will be fine.

Thanks pat.

Its done (mostly)! Still need to add the EGT bungs, and drill the holes. But otherwise its all welded. I'm about 60% happy with the welding. I think I could have done better, but i've definitely done worse

Things to note:

Backpurging through the flange heat sink. 1/8npt filter to diffuse the gas.
I should have welded up the runners before I welded them to the flange.
I still need to test fit it. Small chance that something got fucked up while welding and the whole thing is just wall art

Looks sweet. Curious to see how you like the EGT Setup, and how useful you find it. Having watched you build this, I'm already planning to build my own turbo manifold and I haven't even got my car running with the manifold I bought.

The plan with the EGT setup is pretty simple. I'm only going to run 1 probe. And I'm going to keep an eye on EGTs while on the dyno. I have stock valves so I need to keep an eye on EGTs as I increase boost and retard timing.

After its fully tuned I will probably run the probe on each cylinder for a few logs and compare. Mostly looking for anything totally off, or inconsistencies. Maybe when I redo wiring in the future I will add all 4 probes. I'm more just future proofing this manifold.

That picture sort of scares me. Hopefully it is just the angle, but it looks like building the DP is going to suck, and might hit engine/trans.

I haven't put any pipe down there but I think it should be fine.

Red paint marks bad transmissions. So you don't confuse it with the good ones.

Currently brainstorming turbo brace ideas. My best one so far is a bracket that bolts to the wastegate bracket bolts on the compressor and then a turnbuckle that connects to a bracket on the block.

Story of this build is do a little bit every day until its all done. So I added the EGT bungs today. My manifold is officially done.

First I welded on the bungs.

Its a trick a friend taught me. No chance of accidentally blowing out the hole from the outside. So you can get better penetration on the main pipe without blowing out the edge.

Suggestion: use copper based anti-seize in manifolds. The lead based stuff smokes and stinks.

When I installed my 02 sensor, I used the lead based stuff. It smoked so much that the sensor started throwing codes. After it cooked off, the codes cleared.
