I think the input shaft is hung up on the outermost clutch disc. I was told that often happens and you have to align it "just so" to pull the trans out. Brute force is apparently, bad.
I should have pulled the fuckying motor. I think it is gay as hell that i have to pull the motor each time i have to swap trannies. Fail.
Sean AKA GODLIEST GOD OF WRENCHING may stop by this evening before I pull the motor to lay his senior eye upon my catastrophe.

There aint shiit to see. Just a damn trans that is 3/4" away from the oil pan lookin all obstinate n shiz.
To fix my transmission problem I have determined that the solution is custom cams. Yes, I have a reasonable priced source for custom VVT cams.
So.
What specs should I get? 280? 272? Give me specs.
Are you absolutely positive you have all the bolts out? Serious face. I pulled my trans a good inch away from the engine and it wouldn't budge any further. I pry barred that ---- and once the ear on my starter broke off everything came off all nice and happy. The bolt was hidden under some wiring harness and i couldn't see it
Ya.

I refuse to do clutch/transmission work without removing the engine. I have a small garage though, no room on the sides. I need an old driveshaft for a plug though.

I recently built a big garage, and my house has a 2 car garage attached to it. I have plenty of room, but it still sucks.
When I pull my engine, (which will hopefully be the end of this year hopefully), I am pulling the trans and engine in 1 piece. F that laying under it and seperating them crap.
Ya.

This. I am the worst mechanic in the world.
