For cereal. Tell us more about the car!
Edit: Is this your friend's car who you raced in your white one before your turbo attempt?

Nope. This one comes from my brother. No plans, just ponderings at this time. I've made too many plans and changed them too often and learned my lesson with that lol.
It's a 2004 TI with black/red cloth interior and 71k miles. Pretty darn clean. Never been modded

A stock MSM with intake + exhaust + injectors + standalone (+ tecnas or just coils on the stock billies + 15" wheels) would be a freaking fantastic fun DD package.
it never idled rough. it always ran perfect after startup whether hot or cold. like I said, I think I was exaggerating the issue because even if it is a bit worse, it is not much worse than OEM. are you monitoring afr during cranking? and what is your timing while cranking
Vlad,
Not always perfect, but most times I lift, fast or slowly, the AFR slowly rises to full lean. Here is a log with lots of lifts, as well as the msq. You will notice that I do have some TPS-dot fuel pull as well as EAE.
I am using the AFR targets in my fuel calc. Most cells, the steady state VE table is correct (AFR matches target). Primary exception is at idle, where I purposely tuned rich as discussed in other posts, to allow EGO to subtract or add for hot re-starts. Note that I taper EGO Authority so it is driven to zero at 100kPa and therefore there is no waiting (lag) for the EGO to go away at a fast acceleration, even if it was pegged at full 12% at idle.

Looks like the AFRs are 18.3 during cranking, at least during cold starts with 15 degrees of timing. Once the engine starts they stabilize at 14.5 with 18 degrees at about 1k rpm.
I'll make sure to log a hot restart and let you know if those change. Thanks for the help.
And, thanks for your tuning file DNMakison. I'm just staring to enable/tune my AE and your info definitely helps with how I can pattern mine.

Thanks David. I'll be looking over our maps and try to figure out what would cause the difference in fuel cut.
Joe, it sounds like you need more fuel during cranking. As soon as the car turns over once or twice it should be in the 12-13 afr range (at least thats what I've found work for me) and not full lean.
Just make sure the wideband is on, warmed up, and stays on during cranking to properly see what's happening. It is important to have proper afr during cranking, as too rich is just as, if not more bad than too lean. Also why so much timing at idle? Ive never seen the need for more than 14*
*EDIT: guess who just ordered the baller new PNP-PRO from DIYautotune for their Mazdaspeed?
Megasquirts, I must have ALLOFTHEM!!
Lets hope its as cool as they say it is.

Ok update time:
As of today, my white car is gone. I traded it with a friend for his 350z. He already joined here (just lurking for now) his name is 18psiJR (lol
)
Why? No reason, I just want to experience a 350z.
Before anyone starts crying, I still have a miata. The MSM I just picked up.
Anyways, here's the Z

Its an 03 6sp touring edition with bolt ons: intake/headers/exhaust/cobb accessport, JWT clutch/flywheel, coilovers, 18x10.5 RPF1's with 295 bridgestone potenzas, flares to clear the wheels, and a bunch of cosmetic stuff like the bumper, carbon fiber hood and roof, wing, etc etc. Probably missing a few things.
Its super loud, its super stiff, but other than that pretty fun car. lol

Wow, either you put cash on top or you made a helluva trade. Not a big fan of Zs but they are pretty cool.
I still have all the turbo bits. The cars are very close in terms of value, the Z is not as clean as those pictures make it look lol. Needs a TON of little things like touching up some paint, polishing, cleaning, replacing missing stuff, etc. Its a cool car though, I will amuse myself with it and likely move on to a different car next year. Overall he's happy and I'm happy, and that's all that matters.
apparently so

So. Much. Swag.

Stock msm is so slow I literally drove it home and ordered a megasquirt.
The z is amusing. Sounds so good, but so loud. And suspension is coming out as soon as physically possible.
