Grommet, yes...
Plugs though?

A grommet has a hole for wires etc... i removed the lines through the firewall for the AC and i now have a hole there... i still have the grommets, but i need a plug.

Or did you say grommet and mean plug?
Thanks.

I'm planning to just buy an 01-05 wiring harness (engine harness) and splice.

Honestly that is the best idea. It is what I ended up doing to get the connectors I needed.

MazMart, Panic Motorsports, Parts Group, Planet Miata are all places you might want to check. A lot of it is just pure luck asking at the right time. I think I spent a few months tracking down a harness.

Thanks for the additional resources.

I have sent an email out to a few of them....

Should have the engine in and running in the short term.

I havent thought about it yet, but what is the difference between the 1.6 starter and the 99-05 starter? They are listed as different on the parts group website.

Engine harness and engine mounts have been ordered...(didnt need your help shuiend, but thanks) should be here just before christmas so i can finish painting the bay, get the engine mounted and start wiring...

the plan right now is to get everything running (boosted) and then upgrade from there...this is the smartest plan looking at the time and money needed to get alot of the things i want vs what i need.

The stock brake proportioning valve on my RHD car:

has one line going through it for the passenger side (left in my case) and one going to the rear. is the one going to the passenger side wide open and they just use this as a mounting block, or does it restrict flow to the passenger side?

i have an adjustable brake propo valve that i will be installing to the rear, and i am wondering if i can just delete the oem valve.

When I last spoke with parts group they had a complete harness.

Those rubber plugs can be gotten at home depot or lowes too. I just saw some the other day, in the fasteners section (screws bolts etc).

engine harness and 1.8 engine mounts are in from SC beore xmas!

dope

have the harness torn down, i wil be using the 1.8 fuel injector harness, the VVT, cam angle, crank angle, knock sensor, iac and TPS plugs in the conversion and after it is running i will be converting to my coil on plugs.

This essentially leaves the oil pressure sensor and coolant temp sensors (1.6 miata sensors) left over... fairly involved swap. (i will not be using the oem maf, o2 and emissions junk)

I still have to look into the vaccum activated butterflies in the intake manifold and how they are controlled. Does anyone have any information for me in regards to this? the actuator was blocked off and im not sure where the vac line goes to and if there is some kind of solinoid in it. or is it typical for people to remove the butterflies?

The butterflies that are right at the exit of the runners, at the head?

Those are typically removed.

Do you remove the rod and fill the holes, or just leave it in for simplicity?

How are you going from the cabin to the engine compartment? Amphenol or a hole with grommet? Build is looking good.

the white/red wire that goes to the cam angle sensor, Vvt solinoid and the crankshaft position sensor, is the white/red +12v or +5v?

looking at the wiring diagram it references main relay 4 and doesnt reference the voltage needed for this. i dont want to fry the ecu or the sensors and is the only reason i ask. at this time i am currently thinking +12v.

what sensor/relay/wtv is this:

wiring is well under way:

i will run some temporary wires to this to verify the wiring and settings work, and then i will build an ECU harness completely seperate from the chassis harness...

i would love to get some mil-spec bulkhead connectors, but i want to get the engine running as simply as possible for the time being

after that i will dress it up.

today i finished the engine bay but being as cold as it is (-9 degrees C) the paint was taking forever to dry to start reassembly.

on the immediate list:
-weld AN bung to oil pan
-mill valve cover for COPS clearance
-install clutch/flywheel/trans
-install and wire the engine to get it running on stock coils
-milspec a harness once i verify my wiring is correct
-send the car to Agtronic Motorsports in Laval, Quebec for a turbo manifold build

That is some capacitor bullshit that smooths out current or some ****.

You need it.
