Moment of terror:
I just realized I made a mistake. I thought I sucked-up all the oil/water in the head-stud bungs but there was some left, so when I tightened the headstuds it probably forced some fluid out, under the headgasket, contaminating the surface.

Should I pull the headgasket, clean, and start over?

I dripped a ---- ton of oil out of my head last time I did a head swap. I was handling it myself with a really shitty HG that wouldn't align very well, I had to remove the rear dowel; it wouldn't fit over. Seems to still be holding compression well -- YMMV.

Yes. It never dawned on me that when I was tightening the studs down, that any oil or water in them would NOT fold into another dimension through a worm-hole.

I failed in execution. I thought I soaked it all up with my 8-little rags, but apparently I didn't go down deep enough.

Do I need to tear this thing apart or what?

Because it has not been tested yet. I have my first weekend at the track in a few days, I don't want to break the car 5-hours from home.

I don't have enough cash to buy that stuff yet. I'm getting the van next month, the trailer a couple months later.

It doesn't really work like that. Show me a stretch of road where I can go 0-100-0-100-0-100-0-100-0-100-0-100-0-100 about 50 times and I'll call it done.

You don't know your area well enough. Test tracks are everywhere. I say floor it and then drag your brakes so you are boosting and not accellerating. Hold that at 60mph for a while until something catches on fire. Yay.

Seriously though that is valid for load testing

Come to Greece. You can do 120 in a 75 zone for two hours straight and not get pulled over.

Isn't the van your GF dad's? Could you not just borrow it for the one weekend and then rent a uhaul trailer.

To save your brakes just attach the van to your miata bumper, put the van parking brake on and load your motor right up pronto.
