Unless this dyno reads high I just can't see those numbers being possible. The best I could do on 14psi (which is well outside of its efficiency range) is 217whp. I hope you prove me wrong though.

 

We already hit 221, so, yeah...

I'm guessing more like 230/250. Who knows what a proper 3" and non-stock exhaust* would do.

*For those that are wondering, we're running an ebay downpipe, and stock exhaust cut off right before it turns into the muffler, so it dumps right behind the rear axle.

 

Ok so a few updates, car made 243/248 at 15 psi. Graph is uncorrected, it was a rainy humid day. Really smooth torque curve with lots of useable power, I'm really pleased. Changes from last time are FIC injectors, wally 190, forged rods and a little more boost. Graph shows first pull and the last two pulls for comparison. Still on stock msm hotside bits and exhaust except for a 2.5 catless downpipe.

That's all due to the new ebc rather than the MBC we ran before.

I think it held boost, just bled off more than the EBC does. Here's our boost table. You can see we had to go down to 55 DC at 4000rpm to keep it from over boosting, and could go all the way to 85 DC to redline to try to keep as much boost as possible, but we still lost around 3psi by redline. Can't do that with an MBC.



And the spark map. I'm almost positive we tuned it last time 10* off, this one looks much better.

Yeah, EBC vs. MBC. You can pretty easily see the MBC's efficiency range, which is 4-4.5k, where the two graphs are near identical. Then we can keep some more boost in in from 4.5-5.5k, but then the turbo just starts to run out of steam and starts to equal the old MBC graph.

This is also VTCS vs. VICs, however when we activated vics at 1000rpm, then at 9000rpm (basically on vs. off), we saw no changes...so we're not sure what's up with that.

 

Twodoor did a pretty interesting test with VICS recently. Not sure if it has any relevance or not.

 

So, first track day of the season in the books, lets start with the good.
1. Lotus/AP racing brakes are phenomenal, no bias issues with my stock 1.6 rears, gutted oem prop valve. The pedal feels amazing and consistent the entire time.
2. The improved power band is definitely noticeable.
3. I dialed out a little negative camber in the rear during my last alignment, leading to an improvement in traction.
4. Bested my personal time by 1.7 seconds, dropping the car to a 1:24 dead around PIR. For comparison a 997.2 on MCS doubles, exhaust, software, and Hoosiers runs a similar time.

The bad
1. My ebay radiator gave up the ghost, I got tired of waiting for 949s radiator to be in stock so I ordered one of the new Koyo Hyper V units.
2. I need new front rotors, I used junk rotors that we pulled of a customer's racecar for testing purposes, but they are cracking due to age and use and the fact that OEM lotus rotors are shitty and crossdrilled and vented only one direction meaning one rotor is always hotter than the other. Aftermarket rotors fix that and are cheaper. DBA 4000 rotors are on the way, I had the 5000 2 piece ones on order but they are backordered till mid May so I'll get them next time around.
3. Car started to lean out under boost, all signs point to the fuel pump, seeing as we had to add 5% fuel on our last dyno run and I think the track day killed it. This was a brand new Walbro 190 purchased from 949. Emilio was very helpful over email and I am quite pleased with his customer service. I will be replacing it with a DW300 that Mobius had laying around.
4. The wires on my prosport water temp gauge sender melted, causing it to short out and tell me that Laz is at 350F water temp. Prosport is sending me a new one and I also have a boost gauge on the way from them as well.

Overall, very very pleased, the car is really fast and easy to drive, and I know there is still time left on the table before I do more suspension work and finally jump into some serious aero.
