Small-town policing, 2022 edition: Not happy about the political views of a guy running for town council? Make up some false charges about rape and drug possession, and arrest him on them.
By Meryl Kornfield August 10, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. EDT

Two Indiana officers were suspended after a stunning courtroom revelation that police thought a potential town council candidate was anti-police and arrested him, stopping him from running for office.
During a July 19 hearing, Franklin County Prosecutor Chris Huerkamp dropped charges that included drug possession against Trevin Thalheimer after an officer and witness recounted how Brookville police talked about Thalheimer. Huerkamp, who also did not pursue a rape charge police had investigated, said he was “disturbed beyond words” by the alleged police conduct and reported the incident to the Indiana State Police, which launched a criminal investigation. The transcript of the hearing was made public Monday.
Brookville Police Chief Terry Mitchum and the investigating officer, Ryan Geiser, were suspended with pay from the nine-person force Thursday by the town’s council, which ordered them to stay away from other officers and town property. The council installed an interim chief in a brief emergency meeting and said it would begin searching for a permanent replacement.
Thalheimer said he decided not to run in the May 3 primary race for town council since the arrest rocked his hometown of 2,500 people and consumed his life. Immediately after he got out of jail, where he was held for about an hour, he said he couldn’t leave his bed. He said he felt he had been “destroyed” by the criminal charges, which exacerbated his depression and anxiety.
“I have a bad taste in my mouth about politics,” he said. “I knew politics was dirty, but I didn’t know I’d have to dumpster dive.”
The town council president, Curtis Ward, said there has been no finding of wrongdoing and noted the presumption of innocence in criminal cases. Mitchum and Geiser did not respond to requests for comment.
The controversy comes after Brookville police have not worn body cameras, which the town council could require. Huerkamp said they are the only full-time agency in the jurisdiction without any recording devices.

Really?!!! Our government performs Kabuki theater?! Regarding funding, I've been consistently let down by Republicans who say they have a "backbone" about these things. The DC swamp is deep, and wide. The best government we can hope for is a smaller one.
Imagine a world where the main topic--every day--wasn't our own government?

just hit refresh once you post them. Some of the dynamic links that get converted to html code don't show up initially the vast majority of the time.

I posted gold like this:
So much depth to this one while at the same time not being too serious.
But it's culty to pray to RBG, and put coat hanger stickers on your car glorifying it.
Giving birth is the the most feminine thing a woman can do, so the woke church of the left glorifies and encourages abortion--not only as a partisan wedge--but to dumb it down like it's going out and getting a haircut in order to attract new disciples. Women are no longer the bringers of life, they must be thought of the destroyers of life -- but equally holy and revered. Abortion is no longer a horror but your ritualistic entry and any opposed to even the slightest restriction to this religious right must be supporting “a future where all women are enslaved.”
I actually know a few birth givers in my HS who had kids. What's weird is, those breathing mass of cells are already through college and doing very well; as are adult units.
The weirdest is I'm still FB friends with a birth giver and sperm giver, and while the birth giver kept the breathing human, the sperm giver eventually settled down and had a unit of its own. They both had vastly different lives, but I wouldn't describe either of them as trailer trash.
Remember, the same people telling you your life will be ruined if you give birth, are also telling you men give birth and menstruate too, chestfeeders nurse babies, "mother" has been removed from newspeak dictionary, but abortion is a women's health issue/right.

Eg: the sort of thing Brainey would do if he had access to whatever webserver the IRS puts its job postings on, and didn't value his job as much.
Given that both the IRS and DOE were listed at exempt from the HR 1808 assault weapons ban, I can't wait to see what the next Department of Education "special agent" job posting looks like.
