I'm not. The Palm Beach settlement was brought up by the NYAG in her case [#1 above]...

I was saying: [According to the NYAG] disputes settled against the defense is supposed to be paid for BY THE Defense(in this case, trump or trumps estate personally)!! NOT the charity used solely setup for charitable donations...

......Due to what NYAG uncovered during their investigation. The NYAG ruling had no bearing on the Mar-A lago or Palm Beach cases. In essence, the nefarious activities predates trump's 2016 campaign and the NYAG case.

And when since, be it undocumented or not, has someone been arrested for not having a license?? Isn't it typically a non moving violation and a fine?? A non moving violation is NOT a felony and not immediate grounds for deportation. It's simply a monetary fine.

Also, unless fully disclosed, how are the officers to confirm the person they pulled over is indeed undocumented?? Just like how someone could have easily left their license (or subsequently wallet or in terms of women a clutch (or similar) since woman have multiple purses for instance) at home, they could also have left their documentation (which is also bull ****. Who carries around their greencard, passport or just documentation papers in.............Boston. As far away from the Southern border as one could possibly be) at home as well.

All the hooplay about "documentation" is simply a cover up to target folks and ofcourse profile folks who have similar physical features (and speak) Spanish.

It's like stop and frisk; hey, that guy looks black, tv has sensationalized black gangsters, he must be a criminal! Quick, arrest him for resisting arrest........

Here's a list of penalties by state: https://www.carinsurance.com/Article...-by-state.aspx

In most states, it's a misdemeanor arrest with jail time. It's a felony in a few states.

^^ Which still leads me to my initial question; what mechanism does the officer have available to them to determine if an individual didn't simply leave their license at home vs legitimately not owning a license??

Correct. However, this information is garnered from either a license (which I have left at home) or insurance/registration as both are linked through DMV and police database records.

So the next "identifying" document is registration/insurance. How will that be parlayed into the stopped individual being illegal is the paperwork is in the name of someone legal and I left my licenses at home??

Also according to your link, it is a misdemeanor (with potential jail time) in MA. However, doesn't fall under the purvue of a "serious" misdemeanor (aggravated assault, etc)

Which also brings me to; to what extent are misdemeanors a deportable offense. Found this information on an obscure site, but will have to track this down later this evening (through ICE, TSA, etc)
https://immigration.findlaw.com/deportation-removal/can-you-get-deported-for-a-misdemeanor-.html

My concern is; the fact that an individual does not have a license, will be potentially used against them for deportation (especially if they have no priors).

In all honesty, I more have a problem with the completely broken immigration system (when I hear people say "go stand in line like all the others" which is complete an utter bullshit ad it can take up to 10+ years to get just a greencard.or 5+ years just to get your case heard) and how it thrarts immigration. The US was built off the backs of "immigrants" :(

My issue here is more of a projection for the broken immigration system as opposed to simply not having a license and the barriers associated with getting one :(

Yawn. Look at what is expected to become a Citizen of Mexico. Definitely don't look at countries like Switzerland. Where you have to have a job to get housing, then maintain permanent residence for a decade before you can apply. I'm tired of hearing the US system is so harsh and unfair. All the lefties that call Trump racist were still openly for securing the borders just a few years ago.

Police officers have a lot of discretion in a stop (in case you haven’t figured that out). At one end is the house wife with kids in the car who left her purse at home (maybe report to the police dept to show license, maybe a warning) to a guy stopped for speeding (ticket for the speed + no license) to the car/van full of people who don’t speak the language well and have no license on them (generally call for supervisor + could end up with an arrest). No doubt I’m forgetting a bunch...

Bottom line, how you react to the questions determines the results.

Traffic misdedmeanors aren’t deportable, being in the country without having permission to be here is and in literally any country I can think of.

Welcome to Chicago.

Totally, 100% serious: This is the reality in which we live. I manage a TV station in Chicago (Obamahome). If you want to build something that extends into permit-territory, you pay the man and you get your papers. This isn't a secret, it's openly published in the city records.

We're slowly evolving out of the late 19th / early 20th century policies which were begat from a century of mob rule. But the underlying tenets still remain. If you want to get something done, you have to grease a few palms. I'm not saying that it's right, merely acknowledging that it's the reality of this specific place and time.

So... anyone who pretends to be surprised that an Illinois politician was auctioning off the seat of another Illinois politician to the highest bidder is basically just hanging a sign on themself which reads "I'm a newb who can't differentiate reality from fantasy."

And, again, to reiterate: I don't agree with this philosophy. But, on the other hand, I also don't have an army at my disposal to enforce my idealistic views.

People who don't live in Chicago may find it difficult to really comprehend that "the mafia" isn't just a fictitious thing which exists only in movies.

It's astonishing, but I guess outside of a few big areas, many people don't have stuff like this happen. Although in Tulsa it was the Irish mob from Boston that knocked someone off.

The rear entrance to Southern Hills is still closed to this day.

Why is that the option? I'd rather have him not pardon anyone that's a criminal and in jail after being proven of his/her crimes...
