| Updated May 07, 2020, 03:41 PMPresident Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn is off the hook.
The Justice Department is dropping the criminal charges against Flynn, according to a court filing obtained by the Washington Examiner.
Timothy Shea, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, made the announcement Thursday afternoon in a 20-page court filing.
“The United States of America hereby moves to dismiss with prejudice the criminal information filed against Michael T. Flynn,” Shea said. “The Government has determined, pursuant to the Principles of Federal Prosecution and based on an extensive review and careful consideration of the circumstances, that continued prosecution of this case would not serve the interests of justice.”

I feel sure that MSNBC will pump out a story (or ten) concluding that dropping the charges against Flynn is just another example of how much AG Barr is sucking up to Trump.
Other news that made me really happy lately is that Fox News appears to be steadily increasing viewership over MSNBC.
I like surfing MSNBC headlines just so I can see what stupid stuff they come up with next.

Yup, and now the infamous question arises; "What did the president know and when did he know it?"
Republican congressmen are starting to call for the inevitable investigation and it came out that then acting Attorney General Sally Yates informed Trump and his circle weeks ago that the FBI had developed information that Flynn had been compromised by his close, and financial, Russian ties.
What I find startling (actually not so in retrospect) is these guys never thought the FBI/CIA/NSA whoever could be recording conversations especially with foreign governments. I mean really... after all the Patriot Act disclosures and Snowden these guys think they're above the law or outside the reach. Don't **** with the spies, they'll get you back...
Too bad Nixon's dead, he could get some big legal consulting money...

what exactly did he lie about (and to whom)?
how exactly did he try to cover it up?
The Democrats should investigate this matter ... oh wait, they wouldn't want to expose their shadow government.
Do you not also think the TS/SCI full scope should be revoked for a certain people?

He violated the Logan act.
Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both

except as far as we know, he didn't violate it... and we all know that Act is only used for political theater.
That says: no private person can try to conduct foreign policy without the permission of the US govt.
did he? As far as we know he didn't. All we know is they talked. That's not against the Logan Act. He was interviewed by the FBI over a month ago, and they haven't pressed any felony charges that he lied to them.
Plus, Intelligence officials say they actually read the transcripts and don't think there was any wrong doing.
So maybe the sanctions came up in discussion, but did he tell Russia that Trump would ease them? You don't know.
AND while not quite in the white house, one could easily argue he was no longer a private citizen at the time, being the advisor to the President-Elect...
okay, now, what did he lie about, and what was the cover-up?
He "lied" to Pence? So what? That it?
And the cover-up? again, where? Are you suggesting him telling the VP that he didn't discuss sanctions a cover-up? bitch, u cray.
Remember, when there was an attack on our embassy in Benghazi? Clinton and a few close to her, got in a room, and made up a false narrative about what happened. They actually invented a story about a protest gone bad, when it was a planned attack by Islamic Terrorists, and then blamed it in reaction to some YT video only 1000 people at the time had even seen. Susan Rice then went on TV and lied, over and over and over again, knowledgeably misleading the public on purpose about the events that unfolded. She was, ironically, wait for it...
...awarded the National Security Advisor spot.
And the security clearance of the leaked intelligence, that's an actual crime, but you don't care about that do you? Even had actually showed he told Russia President Trump would ease sanctions once in office, or that he was sorry 35 "spies" got booted from the US, and maybe don't nuke us in the meantime, so what?
It's a non-story. If this is the worst you can come up with, this is going to be a fun 4-years...dams of tears are going to burst all over the country, not just CA.

Flynn was fired from the Obama administration in 2014. He joined the Trump campaign in 2016 and became a key figure there. Post-election, the Obama administration warned Trump's transition team not to employ him in their administration and that he was potentially blackmailable/compromised. Presenting him as a carryover from the Obama adminstration or a low-key figure is either an ill-informed opinion or an outright attempt to misinform.
You should care about this investigation because it is quite clear that a foreign government attempted, and debatably succeeded in, influencing an American election. They ran political ads, ran online troll farms seeking to stoke divisive rhetoric on both sides, hacked political party servers, and even were able to hack into voter registration rolls. But conservatives by and large do not care because in this case it happened to fall in line with their political goals, so **** it, MAGA.

A thought experiment:
It's become popular within certain circles to say "No victim, no crime."
Curious as to how folks in that camp react to this:
https://www.pix11.com/news/coronavir...oceries-police
Technically, there was no victim, as the rightful owner of the credit card was incapacitated at the time of the theft, and subsequently died. He would never have been able to use the card in question had it not been stolen.
And the thief used it only to purchase groceries and fuel, which fits with the "stealing bread" deviance theory if sociology.
Discuss.

Right now, governors across the country have issued illegal orders causing a loss of 20.5m jobs across the country...
Never heard the term Kung Fu Virus before but it sounds pretty tough to me.
If I were a virus I would be proud to be associated with something as tough as Kung Fu.
Way higher on the name scale that something like "Wimp Virus" or "VagiVirus".

It's mostly because california democrats are too thick to understand the pun "Kung Flu", so they have to say "Kung Fu Virus" so that their comrades understand. So by this proposed rule, "Kung Flu" is still not "hate speech".

I hate Sachtler tripod heads.
Like, if I had a time machine and was given an ultimatum that I could only use it to travel back in time to Germany in the past, but could pick any date I wanted, I wouldn't kill Hitler. I'd go back a bit further than that, and murder Wendelin Sachtler's mother prior to his birth.
(Ok, maybe I'd hang around for a while, travel to Austria, and eventually kill Hitler as well. But that would be an afterthought.)
I mean, they're great when they work.
But they are so god-damned finicky to repair when they don't.
