Unsurprisingly, the tinfoil-hat theories are already up and running. This is one of my favorites so far:

All this talk of sheep, and most of it coming from turkeys...

So before we get into a patriot act debate..... what are the actual facts? Is there evidence that law enforcement entered anyone's home against their will? I know most people were inside their homes but I also saw people on the streets and driving. Were people forced to stay inside or else face arrest or did people willingly stay in their homes at the request of law enforcement?

I am simply requesting the facts before any tangents start. From what I saw, the searches were limited and no one was requesting a warrant, indicating their consent. I could be wrong but those are just my observations.

I wouldn't want to be this guy right now:

I will say one thing. Based on the reports that they put up not only a running gun battle, but also left a trail of bombs in their wake during the pursuit, I have to commend those two for their preparedness vis-a-vis the post-attack followthrough. We'll probably never know whether they actually under-estimated their adversary or just made a dumb mistake at a crucial time, but you don't usually see this kind of versatility and comprehensiveness from your average murderer.

I dont want to be all conspiracy like, but there a hell of a lot of -why- 's about how the govt acts is the good old USA. Honestly why the tanks at police stations, why the hollow point ammo, why the attempts to take gun liberty from the people why the patriot act etc etc.

As someone who was in the military for a good length of time, I can tell you a lot of things that happen, happen because some officer somewhere thought "Hey I should do this so I can put it on my Officer Evaluation Report so it looks like I'm doing great things! Ah yes, it will read 'Officer so and so deployed tanks to police station in cooperation with local police within 1 hour in order maintain the peace and order of this fine country.'"

I will also say that probably a lot of things happen because someone stands to benefit from it. And unfortunately it's not always the citizens of the United States.

Eh maybe. The way I see it, most people just hear about 100% of the bad stuff, and 0% of the good stuff. I am in no way saying that the corruption in America isn't horribly out of control. It's utter BS. But people are trying to do something about it. And I think more and more people are realizing it has to change.

But then there are those that are clueless.

There are all of the people that shout that guns should be only in the hands of the police and the other good samaritans to protect us like the govt contracted agencies.

Look at dorner, cops killed innocent people without proper punishment to try to kill someone else. All he wanted was for the corruption to stop.

Go out and ask 100 people what they think and guage for yourself how much people are puppets.

I think all of these situations have clearly outlined a very important fact that you're missing Dann.. If you take arms against the police they're going to shoot the **** out of you. Don't like that idea? Don't do it, give up and clearly demonstrate that you're not armed or a threat in any way and call a lawyer. In no way stating that the police were "right" in any of these instances, just stating facts.

of course, but the police are allowed to murder with little risk of any punishment. They are also free to tamper with evidence etc etc.

Corruption is corruption and it seems the US has a LOT at all levels.

Dude, you're getting carried away with this.

Corrupt and bad cops exist everywhere. Most small pee pee bottoms that got bullied as kids usually want nothing more than to become a cop so they can bully people the remainder of their lifetime.

That's how it goes

I wonder if a room full of geeks at Google (GG) ever try to solve these stories themselves. They've basically got as much data as the FBI, access to all the photos and videos, and some crazy crazy algorithms. Hell, they've probably got a pretty good satellite shot of that backyard boat.

Then again, I wonder if they've got the "fix" in at the NYSE...
