I am glad Full Race gets what they get for their product. They are very nice manifolds, I hope it doesn't come across that I think they as a fabricator suck. IMHO their is worth more than $800, as is my stuff, but no one would buy it

I think the 4-1 collector by itself is better than mine, but in order to fit it you have to do all the other "roller coaster" pipes. I still don't think that collector combined with the required primaries will work as well as what I do for the applications the majority of we miata people use our car for.

I do not do anything to the inside of my collector in terms of smoothing/polishing/sanding, whatever.

I did REM polish Sav's SS manifold though.

I got the mid$800's figure from the first mani I found on their site, the $842.19 "FG K Series ProStreet T3/44 Turbo Manifold".

But damn, their RX7 manifold is $1299...wow. It is pretty.

It didn't do much on Sav's as I only had the time to stick it in the finish chemistry. Sorta made it a little more shiny. If I had the time, it should go thru the entire tumble/deburr & vibratory machines, etc. Next time.

We also have a couple shot peening machines here but I don't want that crap in the nooks/cranies of a turbo manifold :(

 

please make mine shiny too. lol

By the time yours is ready to be finished, Sav should have some hours on his setup (hopefully). We'll all see how it turns out.

 

I'm fairly certain Savington will polish your pipe for free.

Would there be any advantage to splitting the flow going into the turbo (IE 1 and 2, divider, and then 3 and 4) instead of merging it in the manifold?

Ahh yes, the frankenmani. That ****** worked pretty well, but a little laggy with the 2560 on a 1.6. I started with the one front pipe as just a placeholder to make sure I could fit a downpipe, intercooler pipes, etc with A/C and P/S and clear the hood, figuring I'd redo it if the turbo location was good. Ended up deciding to make the back pipe cause I was half way done and, being my first mani, didn't know if it'd explode in a few miles anyway and I didn't want to spend the time on a nice manifold if my welds sucked. It was a very simple manifold to do with just 90° bends...the 3" downpipe was easy and smooth too. One of the local miata guys has it, or Olderguy has it, I think it's sitting around somewhere. 1.6l.

 

I already explained one way to make it.

Sue me Tim, I have no idea how to decode any of that.

I cant figure out how you get from four pipes into one pipe, and have them look like the four pipes are all one piece and each pipe is separated.

 

Sounds like you shouldn't be making a manifold then.
