Those lines look awesome, but...

How did you manage this?

i work part time for a race machine shop in CT, we build alot and alot of domestic V8 drag engines. so i get alot of exposure to that scene. not that i like the engines at all, i will always a import guy. but there are alot of american companys that make high quality parts that can be used on our cars. the fittings, it was just a matter of finding what i need.

jtothawhat 11-14-2009 08:58 PM

Was wondering where you got the ARP intake manifold bolts from? Sick build BTW!!!

ctdrftna 11-15-2009 09:12 AM

ARP 400-8024 is what i used, they are a 50mm (2 inch) long 8x1.25 stainless accessory stud. they have some shorter ones 400-8023 that are 1.75" long. i need the longer ones for my manifold cause it has a thicker flange than stock

I like the hardline adapter. I want to do one of those for my oil return eventually.

curly 11-15-2009 04:56 PM

I'll do that for my fuel line eventually, they're a bitch to get on and off, even with a little oil rubbed on the hardline for lube.

We all know you like a little lube on the hard-line. :giggle:

Holy crap this is a nice build! Wow... Anyone that looks under that hood will know this car means business. I love the rad and IC mount, and the ultra-short IC ducts.

+1 on no turbo blanket. As nice as the rest of the fabrication is, a custom sheet metal stainless heat shield would be much sweeter, and less likely to cook the turbine bits.

Maybe I missed something later in the thread, but your tie rod end (Heim joint) looks like it is binding at full droop. The shim washers look like they are hitting or very close to hitting the ball socket. That is bad, really bad IMO. I do like the rod end thread adapter piece. Did you make it or buy it?

I was gonna take that, but I figured you could come up with something more creative. You disappoint me...

Seriously, he's taken too many nice pills lately, I was really setting you guys up for something, and was hoping it'd be better.

NA6C-Guy 11-15-2009 07:42 PM

Maybe he should retire. Next time I won't pass it up and will take a shot myself.

in what pic? if it has a bunch of washer, it was for mock-up. i made some new spacers that have radiused ends to that the dont bind. i jacked the suspention up to the max to check for binding. and it really doesnt droop alot. should be ok

ZX-Tex 11-15-2009 09:44 PM

OK no worries then. If you checked it at full droop, and you can still rotate the Heim joint a bit, then it is OK.

ctdrftna 11-15-2009 09:47 PM

yeah i jacked the car up and then jacked the suspention through the range and could wiggle them at all point. i should take a pic with the new spacers
