next time I'll add the "looooooooololol" so you understand the context of jokes that must go not go unsaid.

Again, if you are taking this machine to Morgan for tuning, I implore you to post that up here or PM me. I wanna see this in action.

Because of this thread, I decided to move up my plans for my 1.8, and am having Morgan build me an exhaust mani, dp, and full exhaust this winter. He will tune me up again, as well.

ctdrftna 11-16-2009 12:28 PM

triple88a 11-28-2009 08:58 PM

seriously 7 hours? i would have been done with it in about an hour and a half, two hours tops with a polished finish :P.

No you Wouldnt have. Not with the equipment i had to use . The band saw blade popped off three times just cutting the blank. All the od was done on a manual lathe with crap tooling. All the id was done on a ezTrak.

Full_Tilt_Boogie 11-28-2009 09:46 PM

Pretty slick, That would take forever to make if you had to do small cuts (like you have to do with a crappy lathe/ crappy tooling)
I cnat wait to see how its gonna be installed in the car

Reverend Greg 11-28-2009 10:16 PM

That is 6 min.Cnc Job,7 hrs manual is a bit long.I really want to see how this looks when done.I have something like That too.

i want!

ARTech 11-28-2009 11:54 PM

The AN fitting is pretty slick, was that the reason for making it from scratch? Otherwise this would have saved you a lot of time,

M-Tuned In Line Thermostat Housing with T-Stat M-Tuned

What's the ID on it anyway?

ctdrftna 11-29-2009 12:12 AM

yeah, i was cutting at .05 a pass. my boss doesnt want me cranking the rpms, so i have to turn at a slow feed rate. and the chuck jaws are shit, he machined ten diff diameters into them, so i was only grabing on like a 1/2" i didnt want to push it, and i didnt want to put in a live center. once i got it in the bridgeport it went pretty good. i didnt have a 2 flute ball endmill of the right dia, so i had to use 4 flute, so that took a little longer. the pics dont do it justice. it looks really really nice. the mtuned thing isnt what i want. i have a vmount so i am gonna be putting in a fill, so that its the highest point in the cooling system. no one makes one to my liking so im making my own. if i had a cnc this thing woulda been done in an hour or so.

ctdrftna 11-29-2009 12:24 AM

also its -16an, thats like .875 or something ID

miata2fast 11-29-2009 12:43 AM
