Fireworks are illegal in Australia but you can buy them in Canberra for some reason.
After working in Canberra when I was still young and stupid, I "naturally" purchased a "shedload" of fireworks and took them back to Adelaide, South Australia to have some fun with.
Me and my mates drove out to the remote scrub/marshlands near Torrens Island power station at around 01:00 to light them up.

After messing around with some of the smaller ones, I set up the "soup can" in an isolated spot, lit the fuse are ran like hell to a sheltered spot.
We watched it sort of partially explode which caused it to tip over.
Then the main explosion started which caused it to launch straight at out parked car about 30 metres away and bounce towards it while still exploding!
Luckily it stopped rolling about 5 metres short and finally fizzled out.

All 4 of us just screamed out "F U C K" the whole time it was heading towards the car because if it blew up the car, we were in for a LONG walk through swampy ground back to civilisation and there would have been a LOT of questions to answer.
The "soup can" was SUPPOSED to be secured to the ground but when you have NO experience with fireworks, it's too dark to read the instructions and you're drunk, that was never going to happen!

Luckily it all turned out well and we can laugh about it - wish I had a camera back then.
