Here's the problem i always think of when i see people like that... what were they doing when they were eating to the 600lb? Didn't they see it? Why did they wait until the Dr told them that unless they actively lose weight they will die within few years?

I gained my freshman 40 and it's been downhill ever since.
triple88a I took your advice on creatine and so far it seems to be working well for me, I admit that I had some reservations about it because many years ago I took creatine and got bloated as hell. None of that now so yay to that.
In other news I finally bought some powerlifting shoes (nike romaleos 2) since I felt I had hit a wall squatting barefoot. Still getting used to them but at least I'm back up to 300.
and you were talking about how poeple don't realize how fat they're getting. And I remember a reddit user talked about being overweight. And he remembers knowing that he wasn't in shape, but never fully grasping how much. And that he always knew of someone way worse so he never actually felt he was too far gone. sometimes a comparison of "then and now" can be a great kick.
I even use pictures for motivation whenever I feel like I'm stagnating. take a pic and compare it to 2-3 months back and notice the differences.

I'm crawling out of a flu and just finished a night shift. Woke up stuffed up and groggy as hell. Decided that I'd do squats today anyways.
Turned out to be one of my best squat workouts in a long while, ended up doing 320 with no shoes and no belt.
My theory now is that squats feed on misery

Yeah, I love doing them, but I take precautions and stretch/warm up well before squatting. It also helps that most of the guys I lift with both teach and compete in oly lifting and powerlifting, so I always have someone to keep me in check on my form.
People get fucked up squatting because they have no idea what they're doing. My time at a globogym while going through a squat cycle was eye opening. The amount of people that load up big weight and quarter squat it by shooting their knees straight forward is insane. Or on the flipside people that use the smith machine because it's "safer", but exhibit some truly awful form. Full range of motion squats are a great movement assuming you have the mobility to do them.
As for creatine it causes about the same water retention as carbs, definitely makes me look softer, but oh well. It's worth it for the few extra reps at any given weight.

I was watching some guy squat 225 the other day and it made me chuckle--cause by squat i mean working out his lower back.
I'm pulling my ***** to the grounds when I squat anymore.
