No it didn't. That's not how BOVs work. It wouldn't ever work hooked up pre-tb

You know what, that hose may have been my boost controller now that you mention it. That was like 3 years ago so I barely remember.

aidandj 04-27-2016 10:27 PM

Boost controller should also be pre TB. Otherwise you would have a part throttle situation where the turbo was trying to make full boost. You might have had it like that, but it is hard on the turbo and shouldn't be set up like that.

Nah the pre TB hose must have been the controller. My BOV was functioning perfectly so I guess it was hooked to man vac

This does make me wonder why his BOV was completely inop though.

Sounds like that cheap ass Speed By Design kit..............IE, a SE Asia knock-off of the Greddy kit.

It's a $3500 turbo kit that includes a tune...............lolololololololololol.

The guys that aren't track guys in the BRZ community (very small) are the worst CR.net, stancefag, rocketbunny fake wheel kit illest camber dipshits on the face of the earth. I had one earlier tell me that 87 octane changed the compression, then changed it to fuel compression, then told me to quit man splaining how things work.

Oh well. I'm about to order the JR rad/oil cooler, suspension, control arms, brakes, and get this bitch out to the track.

MartinezA92 04-28-2016 12:19 AM

It can't be that one because apparently he paid over 5k for this fuckery.

18psi 04-28-2016 12:24 AM

There's a really large amount of turbo kits for those. Most are turrible lol

I don't understand this statement. Could he not understand you because he was not a man?

It was a chick. I thought the reverse sexism was ironic. She then complained to the admins to delete it all after she couldn't back up any of her incorrect assertions.

Welp, I've decided to say fuck it and ordered the following for the BURZ. Getting a ton of track time in a friends Miata last weekend has pushed me over the edge (it had been a couple of years so I forgot how much I dig everything about going to the track).

- Jackson Racing dual cooler
- G Loc R10 pads
- Motul RBF 660
- SPL rear lower control arms

Going to raise the car back up a bit, get it aligned and take it to the track next month. Then hopefully back up to Raceway Park at the Midlands in August for the second WRL school.

I'm trying to find a way to justify the ACE header and Delicious Tuning Flex Fuel kit/tune. But that's a $1500 header.

MartinezA92 05-01-2016 03:19 PM

1500 for a fucking header btw.
I want to track my STI at least once during my summer break but it looks like I'll probably be taking the baiku out instead.

18psi 05-01-2016 04:40 PM

I can't tell you how much I loved my KillerB header :)

You need to make a build thread already.

+1

I have a BRZ now, I cannot stomach any of the message boards. They're...embarrassing. I've searched the GRM forum, which does have a few nuggets. Hands down the worst thing about these cars is the :eggplant: community (and then torques).

EO2K 05-02-2016 03:08 PM

And ya'll wonder why I started this thread.

I never did. I've come here for all my lgt questions thus far lol. Which brings me to my next:

Should I preemptively rebuild my turbo? 107k on stock vf40(i think) running cobb stg 2 its whole life, which is just under @18psi iirc. Its an 05.

I bet I could do it in an afternoon.

Any billet options for rebuild? I mean, any avenues for moar spools?
