STAHP! You're making me want another.

I'm having a hard time finding dyno info on the E85 tunes. You mentioned 1/4 and trap speed, but that doesn't tell me much. This is MT.net. I want more info! I want "On the stock tune on 91 it made XXX whp, on our street 91 tune it made XXX whp, on our E85 tune it made XXX whp"

Steeda seems to be claiming a pretty healthy bump from just the intake and tune (much like many companies on the S197 Coyote cars.

I'm curious what a full exhaust, intake, E85 tune is making. I'm thinking that's gotta be putting the GT's up in the 460+ whp range which would be damn tasty.

18psi 04-03-2016 12:59 AM

Biggest reason is because dyno's vary so much, and everyone claims theirs is the "low reading heartbreaker" lol

trap speed, to me, tells a better story.

but I get it, you're more of a twisties dude. they're around the 400 +/- 15 range with flex fuel (nothing else). with bolt ons bout 430-440. not sure if anyone did 460 yet, dont think so

Braineack 04-03-2016 11:45 AM

black skies. realistic.

Even if just one company did those on the same dyno so you could see relative change. That's more important than the final number. Is that 430-440 with bolt-ons and E85. In reality, still a healthy number.

What are they putting down stock? I guess I was hoping for a more dramatic jump on E85 since even BRZ's are picking up ~20whp on a 2.0L flat four.

Seems as though the S197 Coyote's were ~365whp stock? I know the new ones have a 15hp bump from the factory. So call it ~375whp.

Granted I look at Steeda with a suspicious eye, but they are claiming 30whp just from an intake and tune. Steeda ProFlow Ultimate Induction Power Pack (2015-2016 GT) | 555-3202 | Free Shipping!

I never go to ford's site... New appreciation for price, even the base GT is vury naice :likecat:

z31maniac 04-03-2016 01:59 PM

Yeah, the 2016 is about $3k more than what the 2013 I bought was.

However, even though I special ordered mine (I wanted a base, white, Track Pack, no other options/accessories), I was able to get it about $3k off the MSRP.

18psi 04-03-2016 04:54 PM

Youre pretty much spot on, they are 365-375 on your typical jet from what i see.
Whats interesting though, is despite "only" gaining 25-35hp, they usually trap 5mph faster, which much more/faster than the dyno leads you to believe

And to me, thats really what matters :)

z31maniac 04-03-2016 10:37 PM

This is tempting. But I may be moving in the next few months so it's best to not pull the trigger just yet.

I may go from a 17 mile commute 1-way, to 53 mile commute 1-way.

18psi 04-04-2016 02:47 AM

ya if thats the case keep the burrrz

but really, gas mileage isn't as bad as I expected. I get 17-18 all city, which is exactly what my vette's got, and about 24 hwy, which is also not bad all things considered.

The biggest costs (as I'm sure you know) are things like tires. its like 1500-2000 for replacement tires for 19's/20's

if you keep the stock prius tires on your burrz, they'll likely last 30k lol. on the stang the pirellis are done in 10

Arca_ex 04-04-2016 04:02 AM

I drove one of the new GT350R's on track not too long ago. Fucking impressive car, I would own one if I had the means.

^That car keeps me awake at night.

My mpg on the BRZ is currently shite, I think I'm avg'ing 19ish mixed. E85 tune + 255/35/18 Star Specs. I do have a set of stock wheels and tires to go on, and I'd stop running E85 if I make the move.

Here in a few months I'll start spending the weekends with her to see if I can dig it or not. Just a few minutes from one of the nice lakes in the state and she's on 20 acres. But it's in a tiny town with no real conveniences.

24 highway with a tune? Jesus ford still playing catchup to late 90s GM pony cars in fuel economy.

18psi 04-04-2016 10:47 PM

no tune, bone stock.

which 90's gm cars get better mileage?

funny cause the '16 camaro gets the same gas mileage. with direct injection. and less weight

cool story bro

Tuned and bolt on 4th gen is good for 25-27 depending on how hard you suckle on the learn burn tech.
