Ok, I took a look at the log, and the main fan output is turning off... the secondary fan output isn't. The second fan stage is under Programmable On/Off outputs under PWM Out 2. You can change its second condition from RPM to VSS1 to make it react to speed. (Downside is it will switch on during hot starts.)

That MSQ has launch control off.

Thank you Matt.
I will change the 2nd fan output like you said.

*edit: and I'll get some logs with LC enabled, forgot about that.

Welp.

That didn't work (for the fans). The green button still stays lit at any speed when fans turn on and only goes away after temps come back down.

Launch control VSS reference, on the other hand, appears to work fine now

Here's something really interesting:

In the programmable on/off outputs, no matter how many times I change PWM out 2, to reference VSS1 for the 2nd condition, it keeps going back to some odd value and vss_ms_1

what's that about?

I saved it and burned it like 100 times, and no matter what it wont stick

DIY,
Any input on this? I tried it a few more times, no matter what it just goes right to the vss_ms_1, which is wrong, because I logged it and it only goes to like 41 where VSS1 actually puts out the correct MPH.

This is pretty much the last piece of my tuning puzzle. Car runs great otherwise.

That sorta thing is probably best posted here: Megasquirt Support Forum (MSEXTRA) ? MS3 Development (View forum)

that way Ken and James, the developers, can see it--they dont tend to browse over here unless I point them this way.

Ok I guess I'll need to register there.

Question: is anyone else with an PNP-Pro having this issue? Maybe I'm missing something obvious

This is the first time I've heard of this issue reported. Are you using a direct serial cable or an USB adapter?

My guess is that there another setting conflicting. And its keeping you from burning stuff that will error out. Shot in the dark though.

USB adapter that you all sell.
it's the only setting that no matter what does not stick

Maybe, but it makes no sense cause programmable on/off settings doesn't change any of the ports, just sets the parameters for each to turn on/off.

Vlad, are you running the VSS calculations where you enter Revolutions per Mile, or are you inputting tire size etc?

My speed/gear detection only worked properly when I calculated Revs/Mile.

I'll have to post up my VSS settings, but it's exactly how it came from DIY, I just updated one of them with an extra zero since it was wrong.

What's weird is that now that I set up LC, it actually works, and it actually disengages after 5mph like it's supposed to (used to not do that) so I know at least 1 of the VSS referenced settings works as it should.

Also observing the VSS1 gauge in TS and even logging VSS1 it follows the OEM speedometer very closely, so it seems to work fine.

But I cannot, for the frikken life of me, get my fans to disengage after 40mph.

Which brings me to another question: should I even worry about this? I mean, the biggest reason I want them to turn off at speed is cause I heard that they actually cause a big blockage of airflow. Is this true? Like at 40mph the natural airflow is so much stronger that having the fan on only chokes it up, and doesn't help it out

*edit: can any of you post your settings too?

I think thats what it does now. But what about my airflow question?

I want to believe you, but I followed Matt's directions to change it to a tee, and it doesn't work.

Tried it at least a dozen times just to make sure I'm not mistaken.

oh i dunno on that point--never had a car I could actually test it one. I had my ms3 wired for VSS I just never got around to tapping into the dash cluster to get the signal.

Sounds like something's afoul--quite possibly an issue with the firmware.

Don't know if I'm losing my mind, but I remember Bias Resistor Values mentioned in this thread, and now I don't see the discussion.
Curly, did you by any chance delete some posts from this thread pertaining to the AIT calibration discussion when you consolidated it?
Also, the screen shot you posted of the ait calibrations is STILL not the same as DIY has on their site:
MegaSquirtPNP by DIYAutoTune.com
what in the world is going on?

I've started to experience massive inconsistencies over the last couple days, and I believe it might be related to thermistor calibrations?. I opened up thermistor calibrations in my tune and it appears they are off yet again, even though I calibrated everything to a tee a few weeks ago.
