OTOH, maybe we're getting the government we deserve...
You're getting precisely the government you voted for.
Remember a year ago, when I was pointing out how, between the courts and the congress, it was going to be impossible for Trump to actually deliver any sort of meaningful change?
But y'all just fell for it, hook line and sinker. You believed the promises and the hype.
Which is why you're now scrambling to upturn new dirt on the previous administration, while 2025 is shaping up to have the largest budget deficit in US history.
At least we now know who is dirty. Need to vote them out and as many democrats as possible.

The "One Big Beautiful Bill Act" is projected to increase the federal budget deficit by an additional $3.8 trillion annually over the next 10 years.
The deficit is on track in 2025 to run close to $2 trillion, the third-largest in US history after 2020 and 2021.
What I like about the process is a guy named Matt Van Swol, (@matt_vanswol) an ex-hardcore liberal from North Carolina that recently turned MAGA after the hurricane passed through. He saw the real-life difference between Biden and Trump.
Anyway, he's been HAMMERING Congress on X/twitter about not codifying the DOGE cuts, and conservatives of every stripe are talking about voting out ALL squishy Republicans, and even some not-so-squishy Republicans like Thomas Massie for voting his "conscience" instead of voting for what his "constituents" want, which is DOGE.
It's very messy, because there are pieces of **** in both parties, and there's CERTAINLY family members of both parties who used USAID as their personal feeding trough. It's a complete circus. But the process is working.
Edit: Elon Musk is used to things that respond to physics and mathematics, not politics. I've heard people say DJT is doing "the art of the possible", which is like not close to the perfection of physics or math.

I wish I could experience what the inside of your mind is like.
I mean, you went from "Donald Trump's latest half-baked attempt at Bread and Circuses is resulting in one of the largest year-over-year increases in deficit spending in US history" directly to this:
And, like... you're totally confident in it! You read a few tweets written by a lifestyle-influencer-turned-political-sportscaster who can't seem to either think or write in anything longer than TicTok-sized bytes, and you are absolutely certain that you're become awoken to some new great truth.
It must be awesome.
Meanwhile, those of us who have attention spans longer than Lori Lightfoot's dick are still sitting here like...
If I was the recipient, I'd want to give it back. If I was Pulitzer and got it wrong, I'd want it returned. Just goes to show how upside down the world is right now.

Joe I've made a conscious effort to tone it down and not make things personal, especially after your private message. It seems like only one of us is trying to keep this collegial. On another note, this was our only other option:

I am fascinated by the fact that you appear to consider "voting for Trump was the less-harmful alternative to voting for Harris" to be inseparable from, or somehow equivalent to, "We must praise God-Emperor Trump, and create new lies to cover his mistakes and deceptions!"
The first statement is arguably true, and at the very least logically defensible.
