Sounds like you need a truck build thread.

**** points and **** condensers. The best thing I ever did with mine was put a custom curved DurasparkII distributor in it and run an MSD 6A ignition box.

Overkill? Yes, but this is how I roll

Have you done the Thunderturd 3G alternator upgrade yet? Because you really should. It'll make your headlights useful again.

I think I remember seeing some sort of MSD ignition unit in my dad's junk. Yours for the cost of shipping if you want it. Have to see if it's still there. If it is, I'll PM you the details.

Edit: Wrong identification character string.

You'll have to be sure to by an extra one and keep it in the glove box.

Well, managed to break my Xida.

Went to unscrew the topnut, and somehow the whole top bit of the shock unscrewed from the shaft. Squirting oil everywhere. No idea how this happened, as I was following the instructions exactly.

Spoke to emilio and it looks like its on me to get it rebuilt. So much for my crazy good deal.

Its like someone forgot to loctite it into the shaft.

Now I'm scared to take the rest of them apart.

No bueno...

Curious what the rebuild cost is, bet you don't have any trouble getting it done at least.

Emilio said around $175. But these shocks are like 8 months old. All then need is more oil.

I'm still at a loss for what happened. Not sure what to do from here.

The top nuts should spin pretty free with no spring tension, right?

Yeah. It kind of did. I ended up having to put a 10mm wrench on the top bit under the adjuster to get the top nut off.
