Just disassembled the rest of the shocks, no issues at all.

I'm somewhat confused here. There is no reason that the top threaded shaft should have unscrewed from the main shaft. Why aren't they reverse threaded or something. Seems stupid.

To clarify, this is where the shock threaded out.

Oil started leaking from there. And then a whole bunch came out before I realized it was leaking. What happened was I was trying to back the top nut off, but somehow this backed out instead. Not sure how that could have happened. The shock shaft should have spun in the body before this backed out.

Emilio sent me to the place that services them and I contacted them, but its in Texas, and I doubt I will hear back until monday or tuesday.

I'm at a loss right now. Very sad.

Quoted $75 for refil. Very reasonable. Want to get to the root cause of this before I send them back though.

Are those the blems? Because really, they don't look it unless I'm missing something. I may buy a set of the blem tophats before they run out. I know Xidas are in my future, I just don't know when. :P

Also, box: I has it.

The blemished is a joke. There are like a few scratches. I'll post up some pics of the actual blemishes when I get home today.

Also you can run those top hats with your bilsteins. Just get the right adapter.

When the Billies come out of my car, it'll be so they can be either revalved or cleaned up and sold. My FCMs are a fantastic dual use suspension setup, but I want something more aggressive as my car is sliding further and further down the track car hole.

Yup. Just the same, some folks get race parts that will go directly under the car, get hammered, dinged during installation then summarily coated in road grime.. but freak out because there is a small scratch somwhere. They'll then send me a 500 word email expressing dissapoint at how the suck our quality, but not before posting the same hi-res pics on three forums. So we knocked a few bucks off and warned folks they aren't perfect.

Still, I am getting folks that wants pics of the scratches so they can cherry pick the best ones or worried they will be defective because of the scratches. Argh.

Anyway, glad you're happy with them! Still pretty even with the scratches.

Exactly. Good product, maybe on a show car you would worry, but **** that.

They are at a great price point for what they are. Don't know how you get em so cheap.

Thanks. I worked very hard at optimizing the design, every process and material to be the best bang for the buck. Three years in the works. Very happy with how they turned out, aside from the entire first production run being scratched up.
