Yep, the bearings and cranks seem pretty resilient in these motors.

Is there a difference in the MSM version and a NB1 other than the lettering?

Yes. The coils are different. I have VVT plug wires which don't work on 99-00 valve covers but do on MSM covers.

Good to know. I have a spare one off my 2000 if you need it but I guess you have one of them.

Yeah I have an NB1 cover with the motor, but I either need an msm valve cover or new plug wires. Whichever ends up being easier.

Ordered everything I need for the motor swap. New water pump gaskets, valve cover gaskets exhaust manifold gasket.

A male to make an10 fitting to bypass the oil cooler for now.

Old motor comes out tomorrow. Then I need to plan a new drain line, swap oil pans and reinstall.

Almost excited about this car again.

Getting married in 80 days, and about 20% planned. So car time is very limited.

Whats there to plan. You take the day off, drag her to city hall, $200 bucks later you're married and you get your marriage certificate same day. Thats what I did 2 weeks ago. We can take the money we would have spent on a wedding and spend a month in Europe.

Thanks six.

It's been a while since I worked on the car, missed it. Excited to get it running again. Clutch looks fine, swapping timing gear from the VVT motor to the BP4W, because it's basically brand new.

EFR6758 at 5psi. What a ******* waste. I'm embarrassed. But worth it.
