It's not an MSM axle, it came out of the 10AE. I'm using the MSM stuff.

It is a non-ABS one-piece non-MSM NB1 axle that is currently stuck in an upright. So basically, go 2 hours back in time before your brilliant axle nut idea and voila, that's what you'd have.
I haven't pulled it out of the upright because, well, I don't need it. I had planned to have it pressed out and sell the axle eventually, but if you need it I'll let you sort the pressing and give it to you in exchange for lunch.

You could go get the part at my house, bring it here to my work, pay one of the techs like $10 to press it out, then leave. Or whatever other idea you may come up with.

I might call it a day. Maybe I'll get lucky and find someone coming from portland but thats a long drive. I need to see if the shop gets this axle out. I will take that one for sure though. Just don't know when.

Shop called, axle is seized in the hub. He said it would cost 40-50 to get it in a press, and the press could potentially break the knuckle. What grease should I use to rebuild my 2 piece axles?

Why are you pulling it out of the upright anyway?

Ok, now I guess I have to make my old 2 piece axles work.

Moly grease? How do I get the old stuff out?

I'd use regular axle grease, but not too much. No idea how to get it out, but I know you can take that joint apart so I'd probably start there.
The threads on your axle are ruined beyond repair, or could you run it? Why not steal the other upright, use one piece axles, and get wider track width?

I'm worried about fender clearance, and then track width wont match. Also, threads are beyond repair without getting the axle out.

Ahh, I see.
I did some looking around on what grease to use and it seems like mazda might have put chocolate in there some years, a few threads on m.net have pictures. The stuff in my 1.6 axles was pretty dark chocolate...
Maybe save some work? I don't remember if you posted pictures of the mess or not.

Never, i repeat, never ever ever, get one of the CV ***** stuck down under its carrier inside the rubber boot, I am covered in so much grease.

I very much dislike grease.
I got some axle nuts from orelieys, they had doorman brand in stock for ~7 bucks a piece. Napa, autozone, and all the rest couldn't get them for weeks.
