I bought a set of 8 injector bungs from Accel. The od is 19mm so you'd have to drill the manifold out a little to accep them, then seal/ weld them in... They like 30mm tall with a nice shoulder on them where the injector goes in. That way you can trim them to the desired length. Also that way you dont have to use goofy injectors or seals and stuff, because with the injector bungs in, they accept standard 14mm Bosch style injectors. The down side is they only came in sets of 8 and were like $12 a piece.

Haha holy octopus manifold! I'm diggin it!

digging the build so far. far more parts/skill involved versus my build.
next year i'll tackle things with more precision. for now im just anxious to get on the road.

IDK if you were aware yet or not but I put a groupbuy together for forged FE3 rods. ~670g/rod X beam(like pauter) design.

I'm really interested to see how our manifolds spool the 6258 similarly or differently. Thats some pretty crazy routing, congrats on making it fit with ac. My next Miata will have ac so that Mani will be much more difficult

Back from my business trip and had a bunch of packages waiting for me. Time to get to work.

Current issues.
Horray i got some Toyota COPs! Too bad theres only 3 pigtails...

I dont know how M2cupcar made his IC pipe fit.. I dont know what im going to do here.. Any ideas?

Cold side piping is also REALLY close to the tire under full lock.. might be okay.

Where'd you come through the fender for the hot side IC pipe? Mine comes through as the pic below, but in the next pic that pipe would not work. I ended up have to follow the contour of the fender wall and if it was as snug as I could get it the tire would rub lock-to-lock. Unfortunately I can't find any pics of the final version atm- but can see how I basically revised it.

I'm considering going through higher up like TurboTim, which guarantees avoiding the tire rub. But you shouldn't have any issues where you are now with the 2" pipe- unless you're running super low. I think my car sat around 12-1/2" from hub center to fender lip.

Here's a shot of my cold side IC piping. It's a similar fashion to what most do. The 180 off the IC has shortened stubs to get it closer to the IC and away from the tire- which is what you need based on the photo.

Message from ebay vendor.
"Don't be alarmed when you receive your order. I believe I only sent you three of the four pig tails with the ignition coil electrical assembly. Thankfully I found the fourth one. I shipped it out today. Sorry about that."

So thats taken care of.

M2,
I think i was sitting at around 11 or 11.5" fender to center hub. that might have something to do with it.. Im going to order a couple 45deg pipes and see if i can make something work better on the hot side. if worse comes to worse i may have to take the car up some I think im going to try to come up to the the throttle body in front of the sway bar on the cold side. theres a tight hole next to the radiator where your oil cooler sits that i can get the pipe up.

Im going to see if i can find turbotim's routing in a bit. Might give me some ideas.

lol- an honest eBay seller, how lucky you are.
I'm sure tim's routing will work for your ride, and I'm sure your ride height is the problem now. That space next to the rad was originally intended for the cold side IC pipe- used the same for my GrandAm Cup Miata to get a shortened intake and cold air.

Tims routing works. Old hole patched up (PITA) and new one cut out. moved sway bar mounts 1/4" forward to clear AC compressor clutch. made mounts for oil cooler. Its been somewhat of a productive day.

just cut the leg of the tube off so the whole radius sits closer to the inside of the car.

That's the plan. I ordered a 45deg pipe to kick in to the vertical pipe seen in the pic.

I havent been posting up much but i've been busy. Trying to finish up buying the rest of the fittings and piping i need.

all those -AN fittings add up quick. I dont even want to look and see how much ive spent on them. sourced braided stainless steel line for -4,6,8, and 10AN size line, more IC piping, couplers, and exhaust components.

Never doing business with Full Race again if i can help it. My experience with them has been pretty shitty from start to finish.

made a fan shroud tonight from an old furnace cover we had laying around the garage.

Im at a loss for this one guys.. Any ideas for an air filter? i have almost no room for it. (was joking with friends earlier today about removing the driver headlight and moving them down to the turning signal cutouts like Cspence did in his build.)

Modified the heater core lines with 90s and added the shutoff valve.

As of tonight (8-18-11) this is what im looking at..

I'm interested to hear what your problem with full race was? Do you think a quick 90 off the compressor inlet could work for the air filter? Also, are you planning on setting up ebc at first or just running wategate pressure?

re: air filter- I found a list of K&N filters that had specs for each model. Then measured the available space to place a filter and compared. Ultimately I couldn't find anything that gave me as much surface as the faux greddy mushroom filter found on eBay. They're cleanable so you can swap out the filter media for something better if desired. Of course you have less space given the turbo's spot way far from the head and forward. Random filter option thoughts:
- Rotate the compressor housing down and do a typical hot side IC pipe run to open up the space on the fender for a U from the turbo inlet to a filter. Though that may require mod'ing the headlight motor brace.
- Find an OE panel type housing/lid that can face up towards the hood

My experience with Full race:
Poor customer service knowledge on products.
told me my turbo was going to ship in 2 weeks and it took 2 months.
Sold me component they didn't have in stock and told me id have it in a week.. 3 weeks later i received half the order.
ridiculous prices.

Raffi was a cool guy tho. I dealt with him on my last transaction.

Thanks for the filter ideas guys.

I will probably set up the car for ebc but break in the engine at low boost levels. aka at or close to wastegate pressure.

I ran an air filter below my headlight last year. Headlights always up, and i unplugged the headlight motor.

another spot i was thinking of putting it...

V-Band 3" down pipe. 225 degrees of mandrel bent pipe gets me to the bottom. a little more bendy than what i had hoped but its the price i pay for the 3" i guess. FYI theres probably 125$ plus welding wire and gas went into materials to make this pipe. not horrible i guess. still need to weld on the O2 bung. Ive been reading that anywhere on the top half of the pipe is okay. Correct?

Looks decent.

If you want to shine it up, go over it with a fine scotchbrite pad on an air grinder. will remove the marks from the mandrel bender.

You did a good job squeezing all that in there w/o chopping on the body. In for "first start" vids.
Any detail pics of your subframe mod job?

Braided stainless steel and AN fitting happiness.

FYI ive been sourcing all my IC piping from CXracing.com and the couplers from votionspeed.com IC piping is thick enough where im going to try to make welds as necessary and couplers seem to be of at least high mid grade quality.

http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant...ry_Code=PIP200 this 75deg pipe worked perfect. One more coupler and im done with my IC piping.

I need to start looking for a base map to play around with. Its going to take some time to get used to tuning in Tuner Studio. anyone have any good base maps? ...Please?
