He killed 4th gear from what he told me last night. I do not know why that is a problem, he has 5 other gears he can still use.

Yeah so I am driving along loving life in my sweet whip finally on the asphalt seas again and I just pass some motherfukers on the highway and shift at the top of third into fourth, nothing special, I don't even flat shift and it not go into gear. Somehow, the car stalls, and I can't get it into gear. I eventually am able to slam the bitch back in and car gets going but then I hear a big *** crunch.

This is pretty lame considering that while I have not been the nicest to the trans with flat shift and excursions to 10000RPM, I have not tracked it so it hasn't been overheated and I never launched it hard on the track.

I am suspicious that trans is low on fluid and got unhappy? Maybe I forgot to top it up after I pulled the motor last time. Either that or maybe I installed my 949 clutch wrong and fuked the trans with it somehow?

seriously, though... that sucks, Fae. going to try sticking with a miata 6-spd or go to something else taht is more likely to handle the power?

 

I think Failflora should just do a 5th gear dyno pull, before anything else on the car changes.

The current trans is dead but the car runs ... put some fluid in it and do a 5th gear pull. Why risk a new trans?
