yes, to a certain extent I am.

I'm stuck having to hang out with buffoon and that japanese cartoon-watching basement dweller if I want to hang out with Miata people.

Jared is also down here but he's a HUGE FAGGOT

(I was going to say "I dont want to scratch my nuts" but there really aren't that many nuts involved in pulling a tranny)

wait, what?

Fae, my car was done in a night, tranny out, case opened,(easy on a quaife) every thing washed and cleaned, clutch removed for inspection, entire process reversed, installed a new front master, installed a radiator fan and wired it up. Then had the car back on track for a shakedown the next day. Come on Fael, starter bolts??? I gave you slack for being a noob wrench at one time, but not anymore. Son you gotta remove the ole head from *** before you work on your car.

Word of advice, after prying and side loading your clutch, pull it off check for damage the replace with proper alignment tool, and torque to spec. This should be obvious to
anyone with common sense, but we are talking out the world famous faelflora the man with 117,000 view on his thread with approx 8 posts of any relevance.

Sean looked at clutch and gave it his blrssing. Did not pull it though. Am aftaid to do that.

As is my custom i am having a crappy time getting tranny back in. I dont think i havr evn gotten the nose of the input shaft in the spline hole after a few hours. I really really really hould have pulled the motor.

I have trans on jack and tail is strung up. Still no go urghh blarghd

I am going to try again now why cant brute force solve all.

If i dont get it hopefully scott will be lured by my fresh donut (the eating type) and come
Over tomorrow and persuade it in with his kittenish fingers

Oh stfu frankly u n ppl like sean are wrenchig gods. You make kitless swaps entailing huge amounts of fab and wiring and custom everything look easy. I still consider myself pretty noob i only prob have about 500 hours of wrenching experience.

What is the saying. "it takes 1000 hours to become an expert at anythibg".

I have $1 that says the outer clutch disc is bent. It will take 3 minutes to pull the pressure plate/ discs off the flywheel and check them, vs another 2 years to get the trans back in and back out of one of the discs is warped.

Edit: 3 minutes for a normal person, so an hour for you.

A good, competent mechanic would have taken the 20 minutes to tear the clutch down to ensure everything is straight. Given the fact that you don't have tihe transmission back in the car yet, do yourself a favor and tear it down.

OK Fine I will do that.

How do I check to see if it's straight? It has that hump where the splines are in the middle so I can't lay a straight edge on it. Just eyeball it? Spin it and see if it's warped? Basically, if it looks good to my eyes, then it's ok?

you could pull the disk and put it on the trans input shaft.

that would tell you:

1. that it even fits

2. if it's warped. spin the thing and it should not go WOBWOBWOBWOB like a wrecked shopping cart.
