Didn't I see some rods and pistons on CL recently, although I'm not sure if they are what you want.
Awesome progress.

They're K1 rods and 8.5:1, 83.5mm wiseco pistons for $500. But he says he'd rather have 9:1 or something. It's a stupid good price though.

And a good photo

I also had the pleasure of driving my friend Bevin's suspercharged Elise on coilovers, yoko slicks, and other assorted mods. What an experience, completely different than a miata biut just as fun in a different way.

My best was 1.3 seconds off my best in Laz but the sheer driving satisfaction was terrific.

Looks awesome, Charles White photography?

We need to work on proper attachment of the brake ducts.

Fantastic thread! It gets me inspired to work on mine.

Loved the video with the data overlay, and all the build details.

yeah, it's been a really fun project especially looking back on where it started.
A few laps from BMW club,
some highlights include:
Lap 4: single tire lockup braking into turn 10 with a nice bobble towards the wall
Lap 6: fast lap of 1:26.3 in traffic
Lap 7: 1:26.7
copious amounts of fun sliding the majority of turn 6
You'll see during the video that at one point the insulation pad that is intended to keep my right leg from burning on the trans tunnel falls off and slides under my feet, shortly thereafter one of the HVAC pipes falls of and rolls about on the passenger floorboard.

and a cool little clip captured by the photographer that was there.

Are you bringing Laz to the next cars and coffee? I'm sending my emissary.

Unfortunately this Saturday I'll be at the ridge motorsport with NASA doing time trials in my galant. I could take him next weekend though.

I love how you blow by that Beemer in the last 20 feet of the passing zone at twice his speed, without a point by, and you give the "WTF did I do?" gesture to Benny.

And are you hitting boost cut or having spark blow out? There were a few times where you head really seemed to rock forward briefly.

I just noticed those inlets (or lack of?) looking a second time at the pic. Room for improvement you might say

Yup, 3" hose squished into the GV knock off lip's holes. It works, but probably barely. I'm running the exact setup, including 3" hose squished onto my 2.5" ducts.

Martin's fabricating and installing an air dam ala theseus, your car, cream puff, etc. Proper 3" ducts will be on either side of the radiator inlet.

I'm doing something slightly more difficult, molding some pipe onto the back of the GV lip, to clamp the hose to. Again, winter projects.

FYI I maintain a miata lap record database here: West Coast Miata Track Records and Laz's times are digging closer and closer to getting on the list

edit: I'm considering changing the Fastest DOT-R category to Fastest 100treadwear+ DOT-R since most of the Fastest Miata spots are taken by Hoosier-shod cars, which are DOT-R technically, but it just results in a double-post with the same car/driver taking both of those spots. Fastest 100TW+ would open a spot up for guys on NT-01, RC-1, etc. and leave Fastest Miata open for those on Hoosiers...

Is Laz running SM6 or NT01?

SM6 and RA-1s. I believe he prefers the SM6 for ultimate lap times, but the RA-1 take offs last much longer.
