Validation is fantastic.I just can't seem to hang on to money. Have to turn it into something with 4 wheels and a salvage title (usually). Just sold the Fiat on sunday and the funds became available yesterday

1. Your roommate got a good deal
2. Does it have a salvage title? No? has it ever been titled in Arizona?
3. The ricer stuff SIGNIFICANTLY lowers the value
4. It's yellow.
5. I thought it was an AP1?

I drove it from the garage to the driveway yesterday and I know what you mean about the solid feeling. Feels like 10 times more expensive than the Miata.
Jeeezus Ed. You do have problems.
In other news, Ed's new VVT head went to the shop today.
He's about to have VVT, built MSM short block, in a 10ae. If only the VVT head was out of an SE...we'll just assume it is for the lols.
Any body have the hard oil line from block to top of valve cover, with associated banjo bolt?

Nope. As far as I've seen there is no supertech stuff. Springs look stock, although could be the supertech stuff. I'm not pretty sure they're stock valves.
If they are supertech springs, it's not worth the money to swap them for the extra rev limit he'll never use.

Wow Ed. So the guy was driving it in the rain, on summer tires, in the cold, and the VTEC kicked in?
If the frames' not bent it's all superficial. If the frame is bent ... that's fixable too.
I predict your tool collection will grow rapidly. Inb4plasmacutter.
Edit: in before temptation to create "Laz2k" becomes too great to resist

I found a WISECO box in all my stuff. With used supertech pistons in it. It's got wiseco pistons and, AFAIK, a stock head. I have no interest in doing anything other than a stock head and stock 7200 rpm rev limit.
My tool collection will not be growing that rapidly because I'm not doing the repair on this car. It's going straight to a gentleman nicknamed "el michoacano" for the repair work... same guy who will be working on my 10AE. Does decent work for cheapsies.
I will be shopping for S2k suspension parts soon though. And... Laz2k? That seriously is way too tempting. Or should I make it Raz2k?

I'm actually feeling a little overwhelmed at the fact that this S2k is mine. I really wasn't looking for another project, but I put $6125 as my max bid thinking it would go for more than $8k. I was shocked when I checked the end auction results and found that I'd won it for $5500. Hoping to be in it for around $8k all done.
Aidan, how many miles are on your roomie's pissboat?

Do. Not. Tempt. Me.
You all know damn well that the last thing I need is a high-HP RWD car that'll pull on ZR1's.

Thanks Vlad.
I just realized that likely I've got at minimum a broken axle, and possibly a whole broken rear diff. It's all a gamble with these things -- I wish I could have made it out to the yard to look at it, but whatever. I'm excited to see it. I'll see it Monday morning.

Déjà vu...
