The car has been runing great, im a bit worried about destroying the 5 speed because im not easy on it. Happened to go to a ohio miata owners meet and was chatting with a guy who wants to swap from a 6 speed to the 5 speed. So im probably going to see what he wants in addition to my 5 speed. Im going to read up on the swap and what I need to to it, as well as look for a 3.9 or 3.6 gear set.

You shouldnt need anything for it though, it bolts right up. Just need a 1.8 Driveshaft, Rear, And Axles. If you already have those, you just swap trannys. You wont notice any issues other than only 2 of the 3 bolts holding the starter, which isnt really an issue at all.
I hope that deal works for you man! that would be amazing!

As for plans from here on out, The plan for this car is to begin to prepare it to be on track by next season. I have a bunch of things to address before hand. Better cooling, brakes, some custom seat mounts, rollbar. Im 6'4" so I have to definitely have a low seat on the floor to be able to pass inspection.

Set ride height last night, and taking it to get an alignment around 2 today. still have no idea what I want them to set it at. Ive read alot of different alignment specs and not sure which one will work best for my uses. So suggestions would be appreciated. 96, depowered rack, and floor to fender lip height at 22 1/2in on all four corners.
For example. Emilios recommended setup for street.
Front camber: -1.4°
Caster: >4.5°
Front total toe: 1/16"
Rear camber : -1°
Rear total toe: 1/8"
Or flyin miatas.
Front
Caster: 5.0 degrees
Camber: 1.0 degrees negative
Toe-in: 1/16", 0.15° or 9 arcminutes total (1/32", 0.075° or 4.5 minutes per side)
Rear
Camber: 1.5 degrees negative
Toe-in: 1/16", 0.15° or 9 arcminutes total (1/32", 0.075° or 4.5 minutes per side)

Thanks for explain what I probably overlooked. I know that having a depowered rack effects one of the variables as well right?
Sorry forgot to add junk rokkor coilovers (on the car when I got it) and larger front and rear sways from unknown brand. Suspension has moved up on my list of things to change but out of funds for a while so this will have to do. Its a street car that see the hills occasionally.

FM's camber split is "safer" if you plan on letting your dad/friends drive the car.
