Hey guys so, problem.
Noticed my crank pulley was wobbling. Took it off, found this.

you can click pics for 3000x2000 res.

Also here is a good vs bad casting Corrado rotor.

My question is - can I use this crank or am I fucked? I guess worst case is that I would need a new crank and possibly new bearings, depending on crank wear.

Crank, possibly. JB Weld is your friend. Supposedly, people have repaired worse and run then for quite a while.

Pully is screwed. Replace it.

I just have speakers. I was thinking about just wiring a small 2 channel amp and using my phone. The amp is like <10lbs. I was looking at Boston Acoustics GTA-502

Well then look at your corner weights and use the amp as ballast.

Given your background, connect some potatoes in series and weld that key in with some jumper cables

I just read this whole thread and it is epic!

The crank keyway looks fine in my opinion.

Thanks man! Yeah I kept it as-is. A new crank pulley arrived so I can FINALLY run a god-damn 36-1 tooth trigger wheel.

Oh and the car has 4000 miles since I built. That's about 4000 more than I was expecting out of an engine I built myself.

I think the car is sentient. There was some drivetrain noise so I jacked the car up, checked the diff oil level (full) and the trans (not full). Ordered 4 quarts of MTG for future hoarding. Adjusted the clutch because 1st gear was difficult to get into unless the clutch was ALL OF IT IN. Guessing my clutch is close to end of its lifespan. I bought it used. From Faeflora. I'll probably just get a new clutch disk.

Anyways, after basically doing nothing car runs great and drivetrain noise is gone. So what the fuсk? I basically give it some attention, do nothing and it runs great. I guess I built Christine?

Just wait til she kills your girlfriend*

And if you bought the clutch from Fae it was most likely destroyed before you even put it in

Girlfriend? Can't afford.

Clutch is great actually. Very grabby. Hard enough to drive that most people fail at it, yet not too bad that I can dd it smoothly.

"You can drive my car until you stall it" works great too. Because it happens in first 10 seconds and they haven't backed out of the driveway yet.

Naw dude clutch disc should be ok unless you havr been doing lota launch etc

There are two cluth adjustment bolts

Did you do both?

One kinda raises the pedal. Also check clutch juice and you got rid of the rubber clutch hose right?

yes, clutch disk is cheap.

2 bolts for clutch pedal? I just adjusted the rod that goes into clutch master... yes it raised the pedal a bit but also less free play. I'm almost maxing out that bolt, though.

Sorry bby but I'm not letting anyone drive my car until a "fixed" replacement turbonator arrives.

Here's what happened last 3 times people drove my car:
1st guy - return fuel line came off, sprayed fuel all over engine bay.
2nd guy - misshifted from 3rd into 2nd
3rd guy - turbo exploded (yes, someone else was driving my car when it happened)

that being said, there was one guy who drove my car with 0 issues. he also owns a turbo miata, though. so maybe that's the secret to not failing?
