this just in, democrats care more about getting their offspring jobs in foreign countries than they do about our own countries problems they were hired to fix.

Not a democrat, also a video from last summer.

That being said, I often wonder if it's related to the classic negotiation technique where you include silly requirements or exaggerate what you want, so that the end result of the negotiation ends up where you want to it be. Sending these funds to those countries for sure seems outright stupid.

There was an episode of "I Love Lucy" where Lucy asks Ricky for $50 to go shopping. Ricky goes off on her with some Spanglish tirade in front of Fred and Ethel. Ricky and Fred exit stage left feeling superior after Ricky gives Lucy 20 bucks. Ethel asks Lucy why she's smiling. Lucy responds, I only wanted $20, but if I'd asked for that, I would have only gotten $10.
