Think back to when homosexuality first became a socially-acceptable phenomenon in North America.

In the 1980s, there was no LGBTQWERTY+. Back then, it was just LGB. And the flag itself? Gay Pride.

Today, of course, the "gay" part has been dropped, it's simply "Pride." If you type "gay pride" into Wikipedia, it redirects to "Pride (LGBTQ culture)," and there are links to "Pride Month" and "Pride Parade" and all sorts of other things.

I don't even recall noticing when it started, but somewhere along the line, the transgender crowd latched onto the "gay pride" movement and started appending letters onto it. They appropriated the social acceptability which the LGB movement had achieved for itself, and are today parlaying that association into legal protection in many jurisdictions.

They didn't seek permission for this, of course. Nobody got a signed authorization of the President of Homosexuality to make alterations to their flag and initialisms, they just went ahead and did it. And they've been so successful that today we see the few lesbians who dare to question the infiltration of men into the girls' athletic programs of high schools and universities facing cancellation just as surely as if they were wearing a swastika arm band.


This seems to be how we've gotten to the point where, from the point of view of someone who mostly consumed media targeted at reinforcing far-right stereotypes that "all democrats are pedophiles."

They're not.

They merely lack the courage and political will to point out the cancer which dwells among them.

 

And the fear of being cancelled, doxxed or worse. It's easier to ignore them.

This specific example, of course, is even more perplexing than most, given that homosexuality is outlawed in Palestine, and violence against queers, including murder, is generally ignored by the police.

Meanwhile, thousands of gay Palestinians have fled TO Israel seeking asylum, which recognizes persecution for sexual orientation as valid justification for asylum status including work visas.

If that's the case then Joe should recognize that Trump has been cutting expenses like USAID, the Department of Education, saving Medicaid by getting illegal aliens off it as well as able-bodied *******, saving Social Security by removing illegal aliens. I think Trump is looking at the big picture, which is why he's pushing for more manufacturing in the U.S., and tariffs. Of course we all realize that if you buy an American-made product, there's no tariff attached and we get the added benefit of employment and all the trickle-down benefits (shipping, marketing, R&D, local business benefits, etc.). Making China MFN and offshoring our products to them was cheap in the short-run, disastrous in the long term.

This is a sea change event that's happening now, and for people to expect instantly better results is simply not realistic. At the same time, DJT has secured upwards of $15 Trillion in manufacturing promises from overseas companies. How much of this comes to fruition, no one knows yet. But it's a start.

What I'd like to see: audit the Fed, audit the Department of Defense, and of course, focus on the DEFICIT. I LOVE the idea of tackling this with tariffs, with H1B Visa charges, with "Gold" passports for high net worth foreigners who will come here to build businesses. I've also heard that our gold reserves (yep, audit that too) are valued at some absurdly low rate. Revalue at today's rate, please. Sell Federal buildings and land that is vacant and is just costing the taxpayers money, and apply it to the deficit. Sell Federal land that's not needed in populated areas at low prices to single family home-buyers in order to create more affordable housing. This has all been suggested Trump or Republicans.

It's been less than a year. I'd say it's already been the most consequential year in the last 25, and certainly more consequential than all of Biden's term.

But it's all theater.

Do your own research, and compare the amount of the claimed savings to the amount of new spending (and decreased revenue) and how the Big Beautiful Bill itself calls for the annual budget deficit to increase by 50% over the next ten years, resulting in an increase of the total national debt of 38%, from $36 trillion to $56 trillion over the next ten years.

Those aren't CBO estimates, that's what's actually written in the bill itself.


And, of course, all of this will be un-done (and more) by the next democrat who comes into office alongside a democrat majority in the Congress.


DOGE is theater designed to distract you. And it appears to be working, just as the other theatrics going on at the same time are distracting you from the failure of the administration to perform a single arrest / prosecution in the Epstein matter, continuing to fund an expanding war in Europe, and so on.

Of course, in Chicago we have cash-free bail, and also a statue on the books which prevents this fellow from being handed over to the Feds for deportation.
