I got it now, He had no right to defend himself unless he too had a gun and killed the primary witness.

[minor sarcasm]
Bob wouldn't have a gun. He would either end the situation with a busted nose and some cuts on the back of his head - or suffer subdural hematoma, potentially resulting in death or pemanent brain damage. But, most importantly, his attacker would still be alive - regardless of whether Bob was in a wheelchair for the rest of his life or not.
[/minor sarcasm]

I think the disconnect some of us are having with Bob (besides having actually read most of the reports and primary source information) is that he is operating under a narrative in which Zimmerman chased down, caught and assaulted Martin. From there, I think his narrative is that Martin defended himself (successfully) and Zimmerman then shot Martin.

If that is what happened, his position makes more sense.

I just haven't seen anything even close to credible that supports that narrative...

You might be surprised that I once had a concealed weapons permit.

And yes I do think there is credible evidence that Zimmerman pursued caught and assaulted Martin to start the altercation. Thankfully for Zimmerman the witness is dead.

I'm pretty sure I saw it getting farted out of a rainbow from a unicorn's ***. It's probably in the pot of gold by now.

Are you saying you just think there is or are you saying you've seen some reports or other testimony that involved credible evidence to support that narrative?

To be clear, I am not saying that definitely did not happen. It certainly could be plausible.

What I am saying is that I've looked at what little primary source evidence is available (911 calls/transcripts, police reports, etc) and have not seen anything that supports that narrative.

Many blacks beat white couple, media bury attack

http://www.wnd.com/2012/05/100-black...buries-attack/

Washington says the day after the beatings, Forster searched Twitter for mention of the attack, and one post in particular chilled him.

“I feel for the white man who got beat up at the light,” wrote one person.

“I don’t,” wrote another, indicating laughter. “(do it for trayvon martin)
I feel bad for the attackers who may have gotten harmed in the "simple assault."

I stopped reading the story after "Rostami locked her car door. Someone threw a rock at her window. Forster got out to confront the rock-thrower, and that’s when the beating began."

I'll be the first one to jump out of the car looking for a fight, but sometimes you need to size up the situation. 100 teenagers on the sidewalk, throwing rocks at my car, would have me the ---- out of there in a heartbeat. ESP if my love was with me.

I'd probably be pissed for days I didn't do anything, but at least all I'd leave with is a damaged window that's covered by insurance.

Let's be honest, you'd have already punched through your window in utter rage.

A strange man stopped got out of his truck and chased after Travon. Fairly clear to me he was running from the 911 tape or at least at a very high state of adrenaline as he moved away from his vehicle. From the Arial view of the scene and evidence some have put together Zimmerman lost him hung up and was heading back to his truck. The place where the shooting took place however was a significant detour from the path back to his truck from where he ended the 911 call. Seems like to me he resumed his pursuit.

I still think there is high likelihood Travon attempted to stand his ground, defend himself and lost. Perusing provoking and shooting an unarmed man just because he looked suspicious in my opinion is murder.

I hear Zimmerman used to lure black boys into his room, and tutor them.

As most of us have said all along, if that's what happened - and we've seen nothing to persuade us it did - I am in total agreement with you.

Definitely. And then, when told to stop his pursuit, all indications are that he stopped and then lost track of Trayvon, as you mention below.

I have not seen anything showing the path of pursuit or where his truck was positioned. Can you post (or PM me) a link?

So a high likelihood of that scenario but a zero likelihood of the scenario in which Martin comes across Zimmerman after the pursuit ends, attacks him and gets shot as he is kicking Zimmerman's ***? No possibility that happened at all?

he was shot right where the zimmerman guy is standing at the end.

i hear no signs up a fat white-mexican guy panting due to running. in fact it sounds like he was about to get back in his truck and meet the cops in a different location.

Shooting occurred down between the townhouses not on Zimmerman’s path back to his truck. Girlfriend who was on the phone heard Travon say “ why are you fallowing me to Zimmerman” followed by a man’s voice that said "What are you doing here?" then the phone went dead. doesn’t quite jive with the surprise attacked from behind claim.

on the 911 call from Zimmerman Asked if he "wanted to meet with the officer" Zimmerman at first agreed to the dispatcher's suggestion that he meet the police by the mailboxes, then asked, "Actually, could you have him call me, and I'll tell him where I'm at?", to which the dispatcher replied, "no problem” Zimmerman appears to hang up at the 4:05 mark. The recording ends at 4:11

Zimmerman never gave up his pursuit of Travon based on my take of that exchange.

I must admit I am prejudice against gun totin wanabe cops. I have issues taking there word on anything.

Much like I suspect Joe is, he is "white-hispanic." You will notice that "white" appears first in that phrase, so saying he is "white" is just journalistic shorthand.

You know, like saying Barack Obama is "black" instead of "black-white."
