He did, I went back and checked. I just want verification that this is motor #2 and just not more pictures of motor #1.

Holy cracked block, ouch.

My vote goes for using the crank that comes with the donor short block you will be buying, being that everything from that motor is pretty useless (coffee table maybe?) and it will be nice to have the crank that is original to the block/rods.

Sadly I selled that crank many months ago, but today I checked the crank at the workshop and they said that the crank is perfectly straight!
Even the bearings are to be take std

two minutes ago I ordered:

8.6:1 supertechs +1mm overbore (with rings)
hondata heatshield intake gasket (will it really increase hp??)
supertech valve seals
acl race main + rods bearings
acl thrust washers

now I can build bottom end

well, all that knock was definitely legitimate, not false

and I must say, my hat is off to you sir for a very creative destruction of that BP

that is some serious carnage. I dont think I've seen a main bearing galley cracked through like that

It's hard to see if there was det because there was pieces of piston n°3 in every chamber, this was the cleanest piston.
I'm gonna change my knock sensor btw, I've got a better one

So, I started to clean a 94 BP head (hydraulic lifters)
it was awful, many hours of work just to clean it

before/during clean

intake side finished

sanding intake manifold before/after

clean this head is a pita, expecially for the exhaust side...

The clutch is arrived today:

stage 2 pressure plate, stage 3 disc

even the stiffer engine mounts are arrived.. even the engine gaskets, water pump, seals, head gasket, valve seals.....

but the pistons and bearings are not even on the way

I HAVE to wait and stay calm, I don't need anything else, I have to stop buying other parts

You know the VICS manifold won't bolt straight onto that 94 head yeah?

First I thought that it was from a '94 because it has the cas and a secondary water temp sensor next to the rear cover

When I tried to fit both intake and exhaust manifolds I noticed that are bolt-on

I don't know which particular version of mx5 comes with cas and secondary coolant temp sensor, but all the Nb 99/00 in Italy comes with only one sensor and no cas

That IS a 94-97 head, the casting number is BP05 on the head. THe VICS manifold will physically bolt on but the ports wont even be close to matching up.

I didn't noticed when I tried to fit

Did anyone have a BP05 manifold that fit on my 1.8 throttle body?
