today I've done the first pulls after the breack-in (around 800 km) and also raised the rev limiter to 7200
6 psi: feels slow, slower than the stock engine at the same pressure.
I think I lost something in the mid range, expecially at 4000-5000 rpm
10 psi: that is about the same performance I had with stock bottom end
14 psi: wastegate solenoid at 76%, pretty much allofit. Begin to feel interesting
16 psi: allofit (wastegate shut closed) I feel that it's my goal: much scared during first pulls
afr's are temporary sub-10 with injectors 100% opened, I need to tune the car now.
God, this chrubo survived pretty well!
green and blue are 10 psi with stock internals, close to knock ignition timing and 12.5:1 afr all the way till the redline.
red one was without tune at all except 100% injectors opened and allofit

I'm thinking to buy a real potato
after some tune, just to reach low 11's
red and orange: after tune
green: the one I posted before ^^
blue: wastegate pressure
can't wait for the dyno!

Well, time to update
The exhaust side hydraulic lifter is noisy as hell, and I'm thinking to simply swap the camshafts and the lifters with the solid bp-4w ones (my old head)
Is it doable? Did anyone tried that swap?-

Lifters were silent during the breack in
When I hitted 300 whp on virtualdyno the exhaust side started to click under load (even revving on neutral)
Seems like one empty lifter

Good news first: the wastegate actuator was unloaded, and at 14 psi it started to leak. It was impossible to raise the pressure. When I loaded the actuator I was able to reach 19 psi...
bad news: rx8 injectors can't flow enough. at 16 psi and injectors 100% opened afr's are over 12.0:1
I'm buying a walbro 255 lph, just to see if I reached the oem pump's limit, but I'm pretty sure that I need at least 750cc
13.5 psi launch (before I loaded the wastegate actuator):
today I installed the radiator, and... yes: zip ties aren't the best solution. I will make some mounts next time
the massive difference
I checked for that clicking noise: at first I thought it was an empty exhaust lifter, but all the lifters are perfect
and then I found this
a massive exhaust leak from cyl. #2
It was the chinese gasket: a little bit of oil dropped from the valve cover probably burned the gasket. You can see the oil drop up to the valves
solution: stainless gasket, probably the oem one.
There was a little leak on the turbine side also, I will probably build a copper one (1mm thick)
After 2000 km I found this in the oil catch can:
is it normal?

double post...
here you can see how afr's are rising with rpm (I stopped when I saw 12:1)
blue one: the last log at 13.5 psi. around 10°C (night)
red one: when I could raise the pressure: 19 psi before I lift off the throttle. 26°C (day)
both with the massive exhaust leak

Next week I will dyno on the mustang, hoping to hit 250hp
new copper gasket (0.6mm thick)
the manifold to turbo flange is not perfectly flat: this gasket lasted 1 day of rape.
bardahl full synt 10W40 and k&n oil filter
I finally tuned closed loop ebc, but with the exhaust leak the boost is a little bit late
target: 210 kPa
alluminum foil
and... the airbox. Again.
I also removed the dwell reducer and wired the cops in full sequential. Much smoother
I've got some issues dwell-related, but I think I figured out.

a little bit of updates:
an hydraulic lifter finally collapsed (#3 of exhaust side)
I ordered two of them, just to be safe (2 weeks for the shipment!)
As I have to stop the car for two weeks, I done something good
Test the circuit for leaks at 2 bar (29 psi)
there was a little leak on the ebc solenoid, everything else was fine
as I said, the copper gasket lasted just one day
Shaved
New soft top
il motorsport differential mounts
and now I am waiting for the hla's... until 5th

the boost was everiday a little bit less
I'm using the same chrubo that eated #3 piston pieces
epic shaft play (no side-to-side) I can make the compressor wheel touch the housing
dynoed the car on the hottest day ever come this year
on the dyno spooled at 5k
no moar power over 5k
200 whp from 5k to 7k rpm
boost was allofit: 0.8 bar / 11.6 psi at 5k and decreased to 0.6 bar / 8.7 psi at 7k
mat temp peak was at 88*C / 190F
never saw anything over 40C / 104F on the road, even during six gear pulls
this chrubo is finally gone.
now I'm taking a silvia replacement chrubo, and taking money apart for a 2560R.
Anyone had experiencies with the long-tube manifold+2560 combo?

when you say silvia replacement you mean t25g?
and when you say 2560r you mean Garrett gt2560r?
Because there's many variations of each.
But otherwise yes, lots of long tube gt25r setups over the years and all of them made good torque.
But since you're built why not go bigger? Price difference between 2560r and 2871r is not big
