Does the aluminum adapter have a bead for the clamp to clamp down behind or is it smooth? You might want to use some standard heater hose that clamps better, that silicone might be causing the problem.

I think there is a bead but it might be too small. Gonna check that when the weather clears. Will use different (and slightly longer for accessibility) hose.

What sort of pressure and water temp is normal? I hate that MS tops out at 215 in logging water temp and the dash gauge is not showing temps.

yeah, remake that adapter so it screws right into the block, thus eliminating that blue hose altogether.

I fixed that hose by replacing the silicone 15mm with a rubber 14mm and replacing the ABA clamps. Cleaned all very well with brake cleaner so there is no oily smear inside the line that will cause less friction. All tightened and it held through a full track day.

Picture of said day:

Cool Seats arrived!

The Sparco Sprint V's arrived today:
Picasa Web Albums - Laurens - Interior

Still waiting for a set of OMP HC/810 seat frames to arrive and hoping it's a bolt in and seating me low.

I also got a set of Sabelt 3" 6-point harnesses and FIA-approved 50mm bolts and plates that they will attach to.

Wow, so much stuff to put in and on the car yet..
- seats and harnesses
- spoiler lip
- horn button
- screen washer
- new CAT and 3" exhaust
- frame rails
- coolant gauge

This is all sitting or begin shipped... just don't have a garage to put it all on myself :(

Oh, can someone move this thread over to the Build Thread section?

wow, same car, lol. I have two sprints and harnesses too, same wheels, same turbo kit, same computer, same motor...lol.

I don't see how all you guys make it through track days without overheating, turbo hardware backing off, blowing up transmissions, or melting exhaust valves.

Overheating I was with the stock cat and pipe with lots of backpressure, less heat now with 3". Lip also helps less lift more flow through radiator. I have the scooper but am waiting to put it on until I know I need it.

I have the turbo to manifold bolts coming loose, they are fixing that now. For the rest, I may blow my trans one day but I will need to give it more track time for that I think.

Same deal, I had the turbo bolts backing off my s4 and 2860, we scored the nuts against the flange ....All tight now

Cool

The seats and harness are in, WOW on the looks and fit. Have yet to drive because of picture two. Car is road legal again, emissions passed without any hassle, I just set EGO to attain 14.7AFR and I heard nothing.

Picture two: this nut was coming loose and while fitting a new one the stud gave up. They will undo it all and refit it again next week.

Cool

Just picked up the car this evening. The turbo to manifold are all fixed now and everything is back together. I just took 20mins to revert from my recirculating BOV to a VTA setup, which is way baller and some friends have been pushing me into that direction. It saves weight

I'm having the car aligned tomorrow and should then be sort of ready for next week's track event.

The frame rails are in and together with the 6 point harness have transformed the car. The chassis is much more rigid and moves as one unit. I cannot hear the hard top torque anymore. The harness seats me much better and the feeling under hard braking is very different, hard to describe though...

Thanks. They're not really up to speed in terms of e-mail. You best bet is to call them and go from there. I don't know what they charge for the dyno. Usually it's dyno run cost plus man hours.

Good stuff! I need to get back into my build mood. All of the taxes, and other random things here lately have gotten my mind off track and I haven't saved a single cent towards the turbo build, nor have I even thought about it in a few weeks.

Just got the new brake fluid: Castrol SRF, the *BEST*. Exceptionally high dry boiling points:
- dry 590 ºF (310 ºC)
- wet 518 ºF (270 ºC)

Also some Carbone Lorraine RC8 pads for the fronts and Ferodo DS2500 for the rear. Would have gotten RC8's for the rear but couldn't get them this quick.
