In my defense, I was rather I toxicated last night. I'm aware this isn't a sound defense strategy, but it will help shed some light on "where I was" when I made the offending posts.

y8s, as always, I love you.

So it turns out that I really suck at ice skating.

Also, an interesting fact- if you have normal sized feet, you get nice beginner skates with padded liners, camlocks, rigid ankles and a serrated portion on the front of the blade. If you have size 14 feet then you get hockey skates, which have none of these things.

I always ask for the hockey skates. They are used less and have sharper blades.

Did you go to the hospital? They can give you things to reduce the swelling in your head and relieve the pressure. It can kill you.

Ibuprofen (800mg every 6 hours) can help as an anti-inflammatory if you have nothing else. You will likely need Pepto Bismol or something for the heartburn it will cause at those dosages.

A friend of a friend slipped on a tile floor and hit his head. When he came to he called his family to come help him. He was already slurring his words a little. He was dead when they got there. Swelling is a bitch. Don't screw around with it. See a doc. Especially since you still hurt.

sorry to hear that story but it's really a reminder of how fragile we are as human beings. We surround ourselves with **** that makes us feel invincible but even a simple fall can do you in.

While cycling, I always wear my helmet as I've read too many cases such as the above. I can't help but shake my head when I see someone biking without a helmet.

Default How I spent my weekend, in pictures

I rented a 4x4 diesel manlift for the weekend and trimmed trees over my yard, with help from friends and family. My house is a newer house in a very old neighborhood. Most of the original houses were built in the 1940s but many have been torn down and replaced. But the giant oak trees make such a thick canopy that I couldn't grow grass in the back yard and would end up with 20+ bags of leaves every week in the autumn. There is also the problem of hurricanes and violent afternoon thunderstorms bringing limbs down on everything from the house and cars to the screen porch on the back of the house. The last time I did this was eight years ago and it was time to take them back even further this time.

Some of you from this forum might recognize the back of Ryan G's head in this picture. He was a hell of a hard worker and I appreciate his help. He worked his *** off. It had been raining for a couple of hours but we worked right through it.

Starting to get a pile. Ended up by late on the second day being twice as high as this and twice as deep toward the house.

Finally getting a little daylight in the back yard.

Troy (Miata2fast) and I are trying to work the biggest logs down without putting one through my roof. I'm really lucky that he had the ropes, climbing gear, industrial-duty chainsaws, the special hoisting straps to bring the pieces down, and the know-how to get it done safely. One big piece at a time. I had already dropped a big one on my workshop when it fell and busted right through the shingles and plywood roof before he got there.

A little light trimming of the camphor tree beside the house. Troy has climbed out of the basket and harnessed himself to the tree to start trimming it. My pretty wife is watching the antics in the foreground.

These pics are from my father's camera, but I will upload some more from mine when I get time. We are all tired and sore as hell.

Even though I was wearing protective glasses over my seeing glasses, I managed to get a bit of metal shaving in my eye while cutting metal poles with a dremel tool... of course all the eye doctors were closed early on sunday.

I'm sure that if I actually knew how to skate, (eg: it wasn't my very first time ever on the ice) then I'd probably have appreciated the distinction. As it was, I was kind of envying those folks with the rigid-ankle skates.

I finally managed to make a complete lap around the ice without falling or crashing into anything, so with a wet *** and a winning streak of 1 going I called it quits.

I just banged out like 13 phone calls in a matter of 20 minutes. Setup inspection to pour concrete later this week, told a customer we dont do foundation repairs, have 1 guy dropping off a print later this week, have another guy emailing me a pdf and gave a guy a proposal price that was accepted.

In other news, does anyone else enjoy talking on the phone to women with accents, even when its a bullshit call?

I love when indian women call me "jooseph" over and over again. I could just stay on the phone with them all day. lol
