I saw a few at Coffee and Cars two weeks ago. Def smaller that most modern cars but I just dont see what the big huff is all about. Maybe I just dont get it. Or maybe it is just all the fanboys around the car.
I'm more interested in the new ford focus ST or even a mazda 2.

I've been thinking about this for a day or so. I think, if the price was decent, I'd get one. It all comes down to what 18psi said about it being small, light and RWD.
I had a 1981 Toyota Celica. ST model notchback. It was small, had a 4 banger (the famous 22R) and a 5 speed. If you looked at the numbers, it was nothing special. Not great in any area. But, if you flogged it, it was really a fun car. You had to beat the hell out of it, but it was built so rugedly, that it took it with no issues. I regularly ran circles around friend's "better" cars. I kept up with cars that should have been able to lose me in the dust, but I could take that car right to the edge and stick with them. It was predictable as hell, so you knew exacly where the limits were. Acceleration, beaking and skidpad numbers were all pretty middle of the road, but as a package, it worked well.
If this car is anything at all like that one, it will be the same thing. I'd buy that Celica in a heartbeat. I'm hoping that this, if not the same, inspires other makers to get back into small, fun RWD cars.

Saw the white BRZ at mid ohio a couple of weekends ago.
I thought the car looked much better in person than internetz photos. Actually, I thought it looked pretty good in person.
I have trouble understanding all of the hate these cars are illiciting. Good straight line speed or not, it seems like the automotive enthusiast world as a whole should be happy OEMs are willing to make a car like this.
If I were going to buy a brand new car for $25k I would very seriously consider the BRZ. Then again, you can get a v10 M5 for similar moniez...

Maybe I should rephrase: I by the "scene" I dont mean whats cool or popular with most people or whatever. What I mean is that a car that is oriented around driving is a great thing to see because there is less and less focus on selling cars like that lately. It would be nice for other manufacturers to follow suit with (an even better) competitor.
I dont necessarily love the thing, but what it represents for manufacturers' direction seems better than their recent beige fetish.
If people like Emilio think it has good bones, it cant be all that bad.

Saw a BRZ run at an autox this weekend. It ran in STX with some 17x8 RPF1s and 235 Z1s. It looked pretty good out there and put up a reasonable time. No idea on the driver but he seemed decent, mid-pack maybe? The car was running mid-pack all stock with some tires.
I want one :-\

we are talking 18/23 (wrx and ms3) vs possibly 30/40.
Plus as a women's clothing designer, I need the extra space to put all my designs in when I go to shows.
