APR offers a high pressure fuel pump for VAG DI applications. That's the only DI upgrade I've ever seen.

The above sweep is probably at WOT. It goes rich above 3200 RPM. (Lambda < 1)

We'll hopefully make Philly by Thursday night, and be in DC during the day on Friday. Maybe catch some of ya'll during lunch after we hit up some monuments?

That BRZ turbo, are they going to run a pump for the oil from the turbo?
We won't quite edge Nashville, and the second half of the journey after the dragon will be a straight, non-stop shot entailing lots of 5hr Energies and seat swapping. Big thanks for the invite though...

This one looks pretty good. I like the camo paint job.

I simply made the metaphor.

If Justin Beiber was an automobile, he's be the FR-S/BRZ.

I suggest you do not buy it then. Also, if you have definitely decided, probably not much reason to keep checking on threads dedicated to it... unless you are so starved for attention that you think it's necessary to continuously remind us how much you don't like it?

I think it's a reasonable metaphor in some ways. On the other hand, the FR-S/BRZ twins are about as un-mainstream as you can get these days. On most new cars, you have:
  • loads of electronic driver aids
  • continuously increasing weight so that a 3600 pounds Mustang is referred to as the "featherweight" in a comparison test
  • ever-fancier infotainment systems
  • ever-increasing HP to make up for massive weight
  • extremely difficult to modify factory ECUs
  • elimination of "pure" enthusiast-oriented models

The FR-S diverges from pretty much all of that, although I guess the BRZ is available with touch-screen sat nav. I would say these cars are more like Karmin: something that started with genuine talent and a small cult following that made it big time* and were given a corporate detailing.

What's that? You've never heard of Karmin? Well, how many non-car enthusiasts have heard of the Scion FR-S?

*As of June 30, 2012, the BRZ has sold 1,089 units and FR-S 2,770 units.
In April and May, the Corolla sold approximately 58,500 units.

Sorry for posting "Do not want" in a thread titled "Want or do no want? Subaru BRZ STI".

This happens to be my first post in this thread after I have seen them on the street. So I felt it was applicable. Sorry.

I still want. Subaru dealer is jerking me around, and I am starting to question whether or not I want to spend that much money.

Want. If I where in the market for a new car I'd probably wait a few years for Toyota/Subaru to fix any issues it make have.

I can't wait to see one with an LS1 shoved in.

I confess I might have considered a FURSSBURZZ 5-7 years ago when I was fed up with having a convertible.

Hell no I wouldn't.

I'd consider picking up a '14 BRZ in about 4-5 years, but even then there will be more desirable used cars that I'd want more.
